Fallout Season 2 Episode 5 will be available to stream on Prime Video on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The episode, titled “The Wrangler”, continues the weekly release schedule for the show’s second season. After a major cliffhanger in Episode 4, viewers are eager to see how the story unfolds as Lucy and the Ghoul explore the dangers of New Vegas.

The new episode will begin streaming at 6 PM Pacific Time (PT). For viewers in other regions, this translates to 9 PM Eastern Time (ET), 8 AM in the United Kingdom (GMT), and 1:30 PM in India (IST) on January 14th. Other global times include 9 AM Central European Summer Time, 10 AM Eastern European Summer Time, 5 PM in Tokyo, and 7 PM in Sydney. This follows the show’s standard weekly release pattern on Wednesdays.

Fallout Season 2 Episode 5 Story Preview

Episode 4, “The Demon in the Snow,” ended with major developments for every main character. Lucy and the Ghoul finally arrived at the New Vegas Strip, only to be confronted by a terrifying Deathclaw emerging from the Gomorrah Hotel and Casino. Meanwhile, Maximus sparked a civil war within the Brotherhood of Steel after a violent confrontation with Elder Quintus, forcing him to flee with the cold fusion relic.

In the vaults, Norm is with the reawakened Vault-Tec executives and grows increasingly suspicious of their motives. Overseers Betty Pearson and Stephanie Harper discovered that the experiment in Vault 31 is over, leading to new tensions and secrets between the connected vaults. Episode 5 will have to address these multiple cliffhangers.

The title “The Wrangler” suggests a focus on characters trying to control or manage chaotic situations. The episode was written by Owen Ellickson. Specific plot details are being kept under wraps, but the fallout from the previous episode’s events will drive the story forward.

What to Expect in the New Episode

A central question for Episode 5 involves the mysterious plans of Vaults 32 and 33. The show has hinted at a “Phase 2” for their operations, and the next episode may start to reveal what that entails. The dynamic between Lucy and the Ghoul will also be tested as they navigate New Vegas. The Ghoul has a known history with the city’s ruler, Mr. House, while Lucy is solely focused on finding her father, Hank. Their differing personal goals could create conflict even as they face external threats.

The arrival of the Deathclaw promises significant action. Showrunners have previously stated they intentionally saved this iconic creature from the games for Season 2 to do it properly. The trailer for Season 2 confirmed the appearance of Deathclaws, making their live-action debut a major moment for fans.

Maximus’s storyline is also at a critical point. After killing Paladin Harkness and stealing the cold fusion technology, he is now a fugitive from the Brotherhood. His actions have severe consequences, forcing him to grapple with the potential civil war he may have caused.

How to Watch Fallout Season 2

Fallout is available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. A subscription to the Prime Video service is required to watch new episodes. Unlike the first season, which released all episodes at once, Season 2 is following a weekly release model. This schedule began with a surprise early drop of the premiere on December 16, 2025.

The season has a total of eight episodes. The release of Episode 5 marks the beginning of the season’s second half. The remaining schedule is as follows:

  • Episode 6: January 21, 2026
  • Episode 7: January 28, 2026
  • Season 2 Finale (Episode 8): February 4, 2026

The main cast returning for Season 2 includes Ella Purnell as Lucy, Walton Goggins as the Ghoul/Cooper Howard, Aaron Moten as Maximus, and Kyle MacLachlan as Hank. Notable new cast members this season include Justin Theroux as the ruler of New Vegas, Mr. House, and Macaulay Culkin as a high-ranking member of Caesar’s Legion known as the Lacerta Legate.

Series co-showrunner Graham Wagner explained the careful approach to introducing game elements, stating about the Deathclaws, “We want to save something for Season 2 to be able to do it properly, not just added on to the massive world building we had to do already in Season 1”.
