A recent episode of “RUN JIN” has sparked outrage among BTS fans, ARMY, after comedian Heo Kyunghwan shared a story about seemingly ignoring Jin’s greeting in the past. This incident has reignited discussions about the mistreatment BTS faced before achieving global fame and the broader issue of bias against artists from smaller agencies.

Episode 20 of “RUN JIN,” titled “Variety Show Extravaganza,” featured Heo Kyunghwan and BTOB’s Seo Eunkwang as guests. During a segment, Heo Kyunghwan recounted an experience where Jin greeted him on a variety show, but he failed to acknowledge the greeting. He expressed immediate guilt and used the opportunity on “RUN JIN” to address the past incident.

This story, however, did not sit well with ARMY. Fans took to social media to express their anger and disappointment, pointing out the disrespect Jin experienced. They also used this incident to highlight a larger problem within the entertainment industry, where artists from smaller or independent backgrounds often face marginalization and lack of support.

“RUN JIN” Episode Details

The “RUN JIN” episode followed a “Be Funny or Die” motto, incorporating a survival concept with humor as the central theme. It included segments like “Tray Karaoke,” where Jin showcased his vocal talent, and a game focused on identifying an “X-Man” among the guests.

Jin’s Recent Activities

Jin recently contributed to the K-drama “When the Stars Gossip” OST with the song “Close to You,” starring Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin. He also released his solo debut album, “Happy,” on November 15, 2024. The album comprises six tracks: “Running Wild,” “I’ll Be There,” “Another Level,” “Until It Reaches You,” “Heart on the Window,” and “In Yearning/Longing.”

Jin debuted with BTS in 2013 alongside RM, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook, and Jimin. He was discharged from the military in June 2024, followed by J-Hope. The remaining members are expected to complete their service around 2025.
