The internet buzzed with a mix of excitement and worry when news broke about a collaboration between BTS’s Jin and Hollywood icon Tom Cruise for Jin’s own web variety show, Run Jin. The unexpected pairing of a K-pop superstar and a movie legend naturally sparked widespread interest.
Initially, fans reacted with shock and high anticipation for the upcoming Run Jin episode featuring Tom Cruise. Many playfully imagined scenarios, even coining the meme “Jin Wick,” suggesting Jin might be venturing into action roles. However, as the initial excitement settled, a wave of concern began to surface among fans.
The central point of worry revolves around Tom Cruise’s long-standing and prominent association with Scientology. The actor has been a highly visible advocate for the religion since the 1950s, often attributing its teachings to overcoming his personal challenges, including dyslexia. His deep commitment to Scientology is evident in his close relationships with prominent members within his personal life.
Idek what to say, but pls donโt try to recruit Seokjin into Scientology.
don’t drag Jin into Scientology.
Iโm happy for Jin, but I just donโt trust Cruise around him.
Tom Cruise might leave as a Seokjinologist.

These comments reflect the apprehension felt by a segment of Jin’s fanbase regarding Cruise’s religious affiliations. While many fans expressed their excitement for Jin’s new venture, others voiced their unease.
Despite the concerns, some fans urged for calm and trust in Jin’s judgment.
Jin is smart and strong-minded. I trust him.
A significant number of fans clarified that their concerns stemmed from caution rather than animosity.
Not trying to start anything butโฆ this feels like something we should keep an eye on.
Some also highlighted the privacy of BTS members regarding their personal beliefs and the sensitivity surrounding such topics. Nevertheless, the anticipation for the episode itself remains high among many.
Letโs just enjoy the episode when it drops. Not everything has to be a deep dive.
Ultimately, the collaboration between Jin and Cruise is undeniably surprising. Tom Cruise, who has previously appeared on Korean variety shows like Running Man, is no stranger to international attention. However, the intense protectiveness of BTS’s fanbase adds a unique dimension to this particular collaboration.
According to a report from Naver, a representative from HYBE confirmed the collaboration on Monday, May 12th, stating, “Tom Cruise recently participated in the recording of Jin’s own web variety show Run Seok Jin. The broadcast will be released at a later date.” Tom Cruise arrived in Seoul on May 7th with director Christopher McQuarrie and fellow cast members Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Greg Tarzan Davis for the promotional tour of their film, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning is scheduled for release on May 17, 2025.
