The popular CBS drama Fire Country is welcoming a new face to town. Actor Josh McDermitt is joining the show for its current fourth season in a major recurring role. This news comes just months after his recent show, Suits LA, was not picked up for a second season. McDermitt will begin his run on Fire Country with the episode airing on Friday, December 5. He will be part of a new family storyline that also introduces actress Alona Tal and actor Conor Sherry to the series.
This casting continues a season of big changes for the show. The season began with the emotional exit of fan-favorite characters, including the heroic death of Vince Leone and Gabriela Perez’s departure from Edgewater. New characters are stepping in to shape the next chapter for the firefighters at Station 42.
Who Josh McDermitt Plays in Edgewater
Josh McDermitt will portray a character named Landon. Described as quiet and reserved, Landon arrives in Edgewater under difficult circumstances. He is the partner of a woman named Chloe, played by Alona Tal, and has been a father figure to her son, Tyler, played by Conor Sherry. Their family is trying to recover after losing their home in one of the recent devastating wildfires.

Landon knows Tyler has been struggling with anger since the fire, but is completely shocked to learn that the young man has run away. This crisis is what first brings the family into contact with the firefighters of Station 42.
Unlike many other characters on the show, Landon is not a firefighter. He is an ordinary person whose life has been upended by disaster, offering a new perspective on the human cost of the wildfires that are central to the show’s plot. His role is to show the personal struggle of putting a family back together after everything is lost.
A Potential Love Triangle with Bode Donovan
The arrival of this new family will also stir up personal history for the show’s main character, Bode Donovan, played by series star Max Thieriot. It is revealed that Landon’s partner, Chloe, has a past connection to Bode. She was Bode’s peer tutor when they were in high school, and the two secretly had crushes on each other.
Years later, their unexpected reunion happens when Bode crosses paths with Chloe’s son, Tyler. This chance meeting could give Bode and Chloe a second chance at the romance they never had as teenagers. This situation naturally places Landon in the middle of a potential love triangle, adding a new layer of personal drama for Bode.
Adding to the real-world connection, actress Alona Tal is reuniting on screen with Max Thieriot. The two previously co-starred on the military drama SEAL Team, where their characters were married. Fans of that show are excited to see the actors share the screen again.
