The next episode of CBS’s firefighting drama is ready to bring old faces and new beginnings to Station 42. Season 4 Episode 8 of Fire Country, titled “Fresh Start,” will be released on Friday, December 12, 2025. The episode will air on CBS at 9:00 PM Eastern and Pacific Time (8:00 PM Central). Viewers can watch the episode live on the network or stream it the next day on Paramount+.

This episode continues a pivotal season for former inmate firefighter Bode Leone, played by Max Thieriot. The official summary says Bode will participate in a high school drunk-driving drill meant to educate students. The event takes an emotional turn when he runs into a former classmate, sparking a reunion that could bring back old memories and feelings. Meanwhile, the show’s original fire camp setting, Three Rock, is set to reopen with a completely new crew, living up to the episode’s title.

What Happened Before Episode 8?

The previous episode, Season 4 Episode 7, “Best Mom in the World,” aired on December 4, 2025. It featured major family developments. Sharon Leone, played by Diane Farr, was surprised by a visit from her estranged mother, Ruby, played by Christine Lahti. Ruby tried to apologize for past mistakes. At the same time, Bode decided to take a troubled teenager named Tyler under his wing after responding to a call at a condemned building. The episode also saw firefighter Jake Crawford reaching out to a half-sibling he only recently discovered.

This setup directly leads into the new episode, where Bode’s commitment to guiding Tyler is likely to continue. The introduction of Tyler is part of a new story arc that involves several new characters joining the cast this season.

New Faces Join the Fire Country Cast

Episode 8 will feature several notable guest stars and recurring characters introduced in recent episodes. According to casting news, actors Josh McDermitt, Alona Tal, and Conor Sherry have joined the show for Season 4.

Josh McDermitt, known for his long-running role on The Walking Dead, plays Landon. Landon is the partner of Chloe (played by Alona Tal) and a father figure to her son, Tyler (played by Conor Sherry). Their family lost their home in the wildfires. Alona Tal’s character, Chloe, has a specific history with Bode; she was his peer tutor in high school, and they both secretly liked each other at the time. Their reunion in the upcoming episodes could explore a potential second chance at a relationship. Conor Sherry’s character, Tyler, is the angry teen Bode tried to help in Episode 7.

This new dynamic sets up potential conflict and connection, especially with the reveal that Bode and Chloe had a past crush on each other. Executive producer Tia Napolitano has talked about the return of the fire camp, a core part of the show’s original concept. She called the new version “Three Rock 2.0” and promised the road to getting there would be full of twists.

“Fire camp is part of the DNA of our show, so we will be bringing it back. Weโ€™re bringing it back in a really fresh way,” said showrunner Tia Napolitano in an interview with TV Insider.
