The French action-crime drama Furies made a loud entrance in 2024 with its first season. It brought eight episodes of fast-paced violence, family secrets, and power struggles inside the Parisian underworld. The show quickly climbed the Netflix charts, pulling in 23.3 million views and becoming the 24th most-watched series on the platform that year. Now, two years later, the story continues. Furies Season 2, also titled Furies: Resistance, arrives on Netflix on March 18, 2026. If you need a quick refresh on the chaotic events of Season 1 before diving into the new episodes, this recap covers all the important twists, betrayals, and survival moments you need to remember.

The Setup: A Birthday That Changed Everything

The series introduces Lyna (played by Lina El Arabi), a young woman trying to live a normal life away from crime. Her father, Darius (nicknamed “Le Boss”), works as an accountant for the Paris underworld. On her birthday, he gives her a generous financial gift. Soon after, someone kills him. Because of the money in her account, police suspect Lyna has ties to criminal activity. She ends up in prison for five months. During her time inside, she teaches herself to fight by reading a self-defense book. After her release, Lyna starts hunting for the truth. Her search leads her to Selma (played by Marina Foïs), a woman known as the Fury. Selma acts as the enforcer and peacekeeper for six crime families collectively called The Olympus. Selma insists she did not kill Darius. Instead of fighting Selma, Lyna decides to work with her to find the real killer. She says the words, “I work for her,” marking the start of their uneasy partnership.

The Crime Families and the Balance of Power

The Paris criminal world in Furies operates under a strict system. Six godfathers control different parts of the business. They include figures like The Duke, The Trans, The Californians, Fehim, Mama, and the K Brothers. The Fury keeps peace between these groups. But not everyone likes this arrangement. Mr. Parques, who leads a group of assassins, wants the Fury’s position for himself. He starts making moves to take power, creating tension throughout the first season.

Lyna goes undercover inside Mama’s brothel to find a missing girl named Asma. She discovers that a man named Jelly had used money stolen by Lyna’s father to hijack one of Mama’s shipments. Jelly took Asma to force her father, a craftsman, to make a special gold key. That key opens the Godfathers’ safe. During a robbery attempt on the safe, someone attacks Selma with an explosion. Lyna also faces pressure from the police officer Simon (called the Fixer). He investigates Lyna’s past and finds childhood photos of her with a facial scar she no longer has. When he digs deeper, he discovers the real Lyna’s grave. The Lyna viewers have been following is not Darius’s biological daughter.

Family Secrets and the Truth About Lyna’s Past

Lyna confronts her mother about her identity. Her mother remains mentally unstable after a coma following Darius’s death. Meanwhile, Herve, the son of The Trans, helps a masked man steal the Godfathers’ safe. He wants responsibility and power. To get close to Herve, Lyna participates in his brutal “Death Games” and wins. When she captures him, he reveals that Darius stole money to protect Lyna. The Olympus wanted to recruit Lyna because she is “special.” It turns out she is Selma’s niece, born into the Arago family. The role of Fury passes down through the women of this family. Lyna’s father, Driss, was a man who made his own reputation outside the family structure.

As Selma fights to keep her position against Parques, she relies on support from the godfather Fehim. Lyna follows leads to find messages left by Jelly. Orso, one of Parques’s men, tries to kill Lyna but ends up sleeping with her instead. Elie, Lyna’s cop boyfriend, witnesses this moment. Orso also tells Lyna that Selma killed Driss. When Lyna confronts Selma, she claims she only put Driss in prison. Later, Selma kills Fehim to regain control of the Olympus. Driss, still alive in prison, hints that Selma hides something bigger from Lyna.

The Masked Man Revealed and the Fall of the Fury

Episode 5 reveals the truth. Lyna visits Driss in prison. Through flashbacks, viewers see her resume her relationship with Elie. Both survive an assassination attempt by Parques. Driss claims Darius stole money because he knew Selma would come for Lyna as the heir to the Fury role. He wanted to protect her from that violent life. But Lyna eventually figures out the truth: Driss is the masked man. He set everything up from inside prison. She fights off guards and escapes to warn Selma, but she arrives too late. Selma appears dead. Parques moves closer to taking control.

Lyna tries to step in as the new Fury, working with Fixer and an ally called Mud Man. Driss starts killing the surviving godfathers, starting with the K Brothers. Lyna realizes Selma is still alive. When Parques gets appointed as the new Fury, it becomes clear this was all part of Driss’s plan. The Furies gain access to the deepest secrets of the Olympus, including the location of the mine—a moving train that serves as the Godfathers’ secret vault containing more money than the Bank of France. Orso, now turning against Parques, tells Lyna about the mine. Lyna kills Parques and informs Captain Keita about everything. The police arrest Selma, Driss, and Lyna. But the Olympus activate a mercenary group called Damocles in response.

The Final Standoff and the Arago Family Legacy

While in custody, attackers ambush the convoy carrying the Furies. Lyna, Selma, Driss, Elie, and Keita must take shelter together and fight off Damocles mercenaries. These fighters do not work for money. They call in favors whenever they choose. Orso joins the standoff, creating tension with Elie. During the chaos, Driss tells Lyna that Selma killed her mother. He escapes with the location of the mine. Elie is forced to kill Keita to protect Lyna.

Lyna confronts Selma again about her mother. Selma reveals the truth: Lyna’s mother, Kahina, was an undercover cop. This discovery drove Driss mad. He butchered his own family looking for her after she disappeared. Selma admits she killed Kahina’s family to cover up her own mistakes as Fury, allowing a cop to get too close to the Olympus. Driss remains the only person alive who knows this secret.

In the finale, Lyna and Selma fight their way onto the mine train. They discover a bomb on board. Fixer and Mud Man track Driss’s men using a tracker on Lyna’s phone. Elie and Orso work together to control the train remotely. The train stops at an old station. The bomb gets disarmed. Driss tries to flee, and Lyna shoots him during the escape. She does not realize she hit him. When Selma catches up, Driss is dying. He begs Selma to kill him before Lyna’s bullet does, so Lyna does not have to live with the guilt. Selma ends his life.

Lyna cannot stay with Elie or Orso. Instead, she and Selma decide to search for her missing mother. But in the final moments, Selma meets with the surviving Olympus members. When she steps forward, she realizes they are all dead. Damocles agents emerge from the shadows. The mercenary group has taken over the Olympus. Now Selma and Lyna must work for them.

What to Expect in Furies Season 2

Furies Season 2 picks up right where the first season ended. With the Olympus destroyed and Damocles in control, Selma and Lyna face a new reality. They must answer to this paramilitary organization or risk disappearing themselves. But neither woman plans to accept this quietly.

This season introduces a dangerous double game. Lyna decides to spy on Damocles for the police. She wants to infiltrate the organization and take them down from the inside. She keeps this plan hidden from Selma. Meanwhile, Selma organizes a resistance movement against their new masters. She brings in a powerful new character called The Forain, played by JoeyStarr. He represents a different kind of violence and power. Marina Foïs describes him as “a father figure” who raises questions about “how counter-powers are organized and who you can ally with for resistance.”

The tension between Lyna and Selma grows as they pursue different strategies. Selma remains unaware of Lyna’s police connections. The season explores fragile alliances, internal conflicts, and the price of fighting back in a world built on violence and mistrust. With Damocles now controlling the criminal network, the stakes are higher than ever. The Furies must decide how far they will go to reclaim their freedom.

Furies Season 2 premieres March 18, 2026 on Netflix. It will be available for streaming in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, and globally on the same date. The new season consists of six episodes, each running approximately 45 minutes.
