The secret identity of the voice behind Lilith, the Queen of Hell and Charlie Morningstar’s mother, is one of the biggest mysteries heading into Hazbin Hotel Season 3. Creator Vivienne “VivziePop” Medrano has finally begun to share clues about the highly anticipated casting, confirming the role has been filled by a major talent from the theatre world.
The Hunt for Hell’s Queen
Since the show’s debut, Lilith has been a powerful, unseen presence. As the wife of Lucifer Morningstar and mother to protagonist Charlie, her influence is felt everywhere, but her voice has never been heard. This has led to years of intense speculation from the show’s fanbase.
With Season 2’s conclusion, the story is moving closer to a point where Lilith must finally speak. Medrano recently confirmed that the character has indeed been cast for the upcoming season, but the team is keeping the actor’s name a closely guarded secret for now.
Hints from the Creator
In an exclusive interview, Medrano dropped several key hints about the performer chosen to voice the iconic queen. She described the actor as having a “phenomenal” and “uniquely commanding” voice, fitting for a character of immense power.
Most definitively, Medrano confirmed the actor “does come from the theatre world โ which most of our cast comes from”. This aligns Hazbin Hotel‘s latest casting with its established tradition of featuring powerhouse vocalists from Broadway and musical theatre, a hallmark that has earned the show a passionate following among theatre fans.
“I don’t want to name anyone specificโฆ but she’s a very ethereal queen,” Medrano stated. “I mean, she’s a queen, literally, but like a diva queen, and she’s kind of dark and her themes are resistance, power, and empowerment.”
Medrano expressed confidence that the casting will meet fan expectations, adding, “I think it’s probably exactly what people imagine it to be in terms of vibe and personification and energy and diva queen-ness.”
A Cast Rooted in Theatre
The search for Lilith’s voice is focused on a specific pool of talent. Hazbin Hotel has built its reputation on a stellar cast of theatre veterans, making Medrano’s clue highly significant.
The main and supporting cast already includes Broadway stars like:
- Erika Henningsen (Charlie Morningstar)
- Jeremy Jordan (Lucifer Morningstar)
- Alex Brightman (Sir Pentious)
- Kimiko Glenn (Niffty)
- Jessica Vosk (Sera)
- Christian Borle (Adam)
This pattern suggests the voice of Lilith will be another recognizable and respected name from the stage, capable of delivering the dramatic and musical performance the role demands.

What’s Next for Season 3
Season 3 of Hazbin Hotel is currently in production. While no official release date has been announced by the studio, A24, the confirmation that the season is being made is the main update for eager fans.
Medrano also teased that Lilith is just one of several exciting new voices joining the infernal ensemble. “We’ve got some really cool voices coming up in season 3,” she said. “Obviously, we will hear her eventually, but just some of the other characters, like the guest stars we’ve gotten in season 3 specifically, are just as awesome.”
For now, the hunt continues. Fans are scouring the resumes of major theatre divas, looking for an artist who embodies the “ethereal,” “commanding,” and powerfully dark energy of the one queen who has ruled Hell from the shadows.
