The winners of the hit Netflix competition Physical: Asia will take home a grand prize of 1 billion South Korean Won (KRW), a sum that underscores the show’s high-stakes, global scale. This massive cash reward is one of the largest ever offered in a Netflix reality series. For an international audience, that amount converts to approximately $700,000 USD.
The show brings together 48 elite athletes from eight different countries, all competing in grueling physical challenges. Unlike the original Physical: 100, which focused on individual performance, this version is a team-based battle where contestants represent their national flags, raising the stakes with national pride on the line.
The Grand Prize in Detail
The winning team of Physical: Asia will be awarded 1 billion Korean Won. At current exchange rates, this is equivalent to roughly $700,000 US Dollars. This prize is a significant increase from the original Physical: 100 and reflects the expanded, international format of the show.
Producer Jang Ho-ki, the creator of the Physical series, commented on the substantial reward. He stated that the prize is a natural result of the athletes’ dedication and sacrifice. However, he also noted that the competitors are motivated by more than just money.
“The prize money is also large, but they don’t work hard because of the prize money. It is true that it is a big prize, but everyone who appeared did their best, thinking of the country’s honor and the pride of their own physicality rather than the prize money,” said Producer Jang Ho-ki.
Physical: Asia: A Global Battle of Strength
Physical: Asia is the latest spin-off from the popular Korean reality show Physical: 100. It expands the competition into a continent-wide event, featuring teams from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines.
Each country is represented by a team of six elite athletes, including legendary figures like Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, South Korean UFC fighter Kim Dong-hyun, and Australian former UFC champion Robert Whittaker. The challenges are designed to test the limits of human strength, endurance, and strategy, with the failure of a single team member potentially leading to the entire country’s elimination.
Release Schedule and Global Success
The show premiered on October 28, 2025, and new episodes are being released in batches on Netflix. The finale is set for November 18, 2025. This release strategy has kept global audiences engaged, and the show has quickly found international success.
Shortly after its release, Physical: Asia ranked third in Netflix’s global Top 10 list for non-English TV shows. It entered the top 10 charts in 44 countries and claimed the number one spot in eight of them, amassing 5.2 million views in its first week.
