An Indian fan of B.I, the celebrated K-pop soloist formerly part of iKON, surprised him with a specially curated Indian menu to try when he visits India in December. The unexpected gesture took place in Finland, where the fan had the rare opportunity to attend B.I’s concert as part of his 2024 HYBE UP world tour.
B.I, whose real name is Kim Hanbin, is set to perform in India for the very first time at the K-Town Festival, sparking immense excitement among Indian K-pop enthusiasts.
Indian Fan’s Special Gesture Goes Viral
On October 23, a fan account on X (formerly Twitter) shared a clip capturing the heartwarming moment between B.I. and the Indian fan during the Finland concert. According to the post, the fan had the chance to interact directly with B.I. when the mic was passed to her in the audience.
In the video, the Indian fan asks B.I. if he’s excited to try any specific Indian dishes during his upcoming visit. B.I playfully responds by asking her for recommendations, leading her to reveal the surprise: a carefully planned Indian menu tailored for him. This unique interaction brought a smile to B.I.’s face, as he responded with enthusiasm, saying, “I’m looking forward to it.”
The video immediately gained traction among B.I.’s global fanbase, with fans expressing excitement over his upcoming visit and admiring the Indian fan’s thoughtfulness in sharing a piece of Indian culture with him.
K-Town Festival: B.I. to Perform Alongside Other K-Pop Stars
B.I.’s India debut will be at the K-Town Festival on December 14, 2024, in Mumbai. This festival marks a historic moment for K-pop fans in India, as several prominent artists are set to perform, including EXO’s Xiumin, Chen, and GOT7 member BamBam. All of these stars will be stepping onto Indian soil for the first time, creating an atmosphere of unparalleled anticipation among K-pop enthusiasts in the country.
B.I.’s Journey from iKON to Solo Success
Kim Hanbin (B.I) launched his career as a founding member and leader of iKON, a group managed by YG Entertainment, where he contributed significantly as a songwriter and producer. However, in 2019, he faced a public scandal involving allegations of drug use, which led to his departure from the group and his exit from YG Entertainment.
B.I. made a powerful return in 2021 through his self-founded label and has since continued to capture fans’ hearts as a solo artist with his music and live performances. His HYBE UP world tour showcases his journey as a soloist, and the upcoming K-Town Festival concert in Mumbai will allow Indian fans to witness his artistry live for the first time.
