What to Expect in ‘Give Us a Moment’

The fourth season adapts the fan-favorite Viltrumite War storyline from the original Image Comics series by Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, and Cory Walker. The season follows Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun) as he deals with the aftermath of his brutal fight with Conquest and prepares for an all-out war against the Viltrumite Empire.

Episode 4, “Hurm,” premiered on March 25, pushing the story forward as tensions escalate. Episode 5, “Give Us a Moment,” is expected to continue building toward the conflict with Thragg, the Grand Regent of the Viltrumite Empire voiced by Lee Pace. The episode title suggests moments of reflection or tension between key characters as the war intensifies.

The Voice Cast Returns

The main cast is back for Season 4, with Steven Yeun leading as Mark Grayson. J.K. Simmons returns as his father Nolan Grayson, also known as Omni-Man, while Sandra Oh voices Debbie Grayson. Gillian Jacobs is back as Atom Eve, and Christian Convery voices Oliver Grayson.

Season 4 also introduces new characters from the comics. Lee Pace joins the series as Thragg, the leader of the Viltrumite Empire and one of the most dangerous villains Mark will ever face. Matthew Rhys voices Dinosaurus, a complex antagonist with his own twisted sense of morality. Danai Gurira also joins the cast as Universa, another new threat.

Season 4 Storyline So Far

The new season picks up after the devastating events of Season 3. Mark is dealing with guilt and trauma from his previous battles while trying to protect Earth from new threats. The Viltrumite Empire, led by Thragg, poses a danger that forces Mark to team up with unexpected allies, including his father Omni-Man and Allen the Alien.

Co-showrunner Simon Racioppa spoke about the emotional weight of this season, saying:

“War has casualties, and maybe you make it back alive, but maybe not all of you comes back. There are consequences to actions that are invisible to the eye, but are there mentally and will continue to have effects on our characters for seasons to come.”

Series creator Robert Kirkman added that Season 4 pays off storylines built over multiple seasons. “Our first episode pays off a long-running Sequids storyline. The Viltrumites War itself pays off a lot of the long-running Viltrumite storylines that have been going on behind the scenes.”

What’s Next After Episode 5

Following Episode 5, the season continues with weekly releases. Episode 6, “You Look Horrible,” arrives on April 8, Episode 7 on April 15, and the Season 4 finale on April 22. The show has already been renewed for a fifth season, which is currently in production, ensuring fans will have more Invincible to look forward to after this season wraps.
