Popular K-Pop singer and actress Jiyeon and baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun are reportedly filing for divorce. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2022, recently began mediation.

According to reports on October 5, Jiyeon (31) and Hwang Jae Gyun (37) have submitted a divorce mediation request last month. The two will soon begin the mediation process to finalize their separation.

Rumors Sparked in June

The first rumors of their divorce began circulating in late June when a baseball commentator mentioned during a radio broadcast, “Did you know? Hwang Jae Gyun is getting divorced.” Around the same time, Jiyeon had paused her activities on YouTube following her husband’s “rage controversy” during a baseball game.

The couple’s sudden divorce comes less than two years after their highly publicized wedding in December 2022.
