Television host Kathie Lee Gifford shared a clear update about her romantic life. She stated she is not dating anyone and does not want to date. This news comes more than ten years after her husband Frank Gifford passed away in 2015.
The former Today show co-host, who is 72 years old, made these comments in a recent interview with People magazine. She explained that she is not searching for a new partner. She also said she does not think she will ever get married again.
Kathie Lee Gifford Opens Up About Love Life After Frank Gifford
Kathie Lee Gifford had a relationship with a man after Frank died. She mentioned that she had a chance for another serious relationship, but it did not work out. She did not share the name of this person.
“I am not dating anybody right now, and I don’t want to date,” Gifford said. “I’m not looking, and I don’t think I’ll ever get married again.”
The TV star last dated Nashville businessman Richard Spitz. Their relationship lasted from late 2021 until early 2024.
Remembering Frank Gifford and Their Marriage
Frank Gifford died on August 9, 2015. He was one week away from his 85th birthday. He passed away due to a heart attack at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Kathie Lee Gifford described that day. She found him and tried to resuscitate him with her son Cody. Emergency workers told her that he did not suffer.
“He was one week shy of his 85th birthday, but he was ready to go,” she said. “He said, ‘You know, hon, I’m not afraid. I’m starting to get really curious.’”
The couple married in October 1986. They were together for almost 29 years. They have two children, son Cody (35) and daughter Cassidy (32).
Kathie Lee met Frank while working at Good Morning America in 1982. He was a famous NFL player and sports broadcaster.
Reflecting on Infidelity and Healing
The couple went through difficult times. In 1997, a tabloid followed Frank to a hotel room. The story revealed that he had been unfaithful. He later admitted to the affair in his memoir.
Kathie Lee Gifford chose to forgive him. She left for a week but came back to reconcile and work on their marriage.
She often hears from people about her decision. They tell her that her story inspired them to save their own marriages.
“There’s not a day that goes by that somebody doesn’t come up to me and say, ‘I just want you to know I had separated from my husband, and I went back. We went for counseling. We healed our marriage.’”
Frank Gifford had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). This brain disease comes from repeated head trauma. His family donated his brain for scientific study.
“He was ready to go. He wasn’t afraid,” she added.
Is Kathie Lee Gifford Dating Anyone Now?
The answer is no. Kathie Lee Gifford said she is single and wants to stay that way. She does not plan to look for a new partner.
“Frank will always be the love of my life,” she said. “If God wants to do something miraculous, like give me another great love [then I’m open to it]. And so I leave room for the miraculous to happen.”
She spoke openly about her feelings in the same interview. She explained that she has been in love only three times in her life. Two of those people are gone.

Kathie Lee Gifford is now a grandmother to five grandchildren. She stays busy with her family and her work. She recently filmed a documentary about her life. She also wrote a new book called Nero and Paul.

“I need to find joy in the moment I’m in right now, because none of us know when is our last breath,” she explained.
