The allegations surfaced when a user on YouTube, with the handle @KimSeol24356, claimed to have worked at GOLD MEDALIST four years prior and was allegedly fired for leaking information about Seo Ye Ji to news outlets. The user stated that Kim Soo Hyun and his cousin Lee Sa Rang had “a lot of issues” and that Seo Ye Ji was used as a “shield.”
According to the user’s statement:
Four years ago, I worked at GOLD MEDALIST but was fired after leaking important information about actress Seo Ye Ji to Dispatch and OSN reporters… What I want to say is that actor Kim Soo Hyun and his cousin Lee Sa Rang had a lot of issues, and actress Seo Ye Ji was used as a shield. Some of the negative claims about her actually came from within the management. GOLD MEDALIST deliberately provided false information about Seo Ye Ji to Dispatch in order to cover up their own wrongdoings. They even paid people to spread lies about her. For example, the claim that Seo Ye Ji was rude to staff was fabricated. It was GOLD MEDALIST that paid people to spread such false claims. Also, it was a GOLD MEDALIST employee who created the plot of Seo Ye Ji having committed school violence during her student years, and this was done under the instruction of Lee Sa Rang, who directed the reporters to publish articles about these lies.
In response to these claims, GOLD MEDALIST issued a statement refuting the allegations.
In its March 17 report, Garo Sero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) claimed, based on an anonymous source, that our company colluded with media outlets to defame Seo Ye Ji. This claim is entirely false and is based solely on an anonymous tip. Even the manager who was responsible for Seo Ye Ji at the time — now resigned — was so baffled by this claim that they reached out to us. We strongly urge you to stop disseminating baseless and irresponsible false information without any evidence or accountability.
