Lee Seo Jin openly shared his perspective on marriage and family, stating he has given up on both. Appearing on the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun, he engaged in a candid conversation with Kim Kwang Gyu and Ji Seok Jin about life and happiness.
On March 8, a video was released on the YouTube channel ‘DdeunDdeun’, featuring Lee Seo Jin alongside fellow entertainers Kim Kwang Gyu and Ji Seok Jin. The trio engaged in a conversation that touched upon various topics, including their perspectives on marriage and personal happiness.
During the discussion, Lee Seo Jin was directly asked if he felt unhappy. In response, he conveyed a sense of contentment with his current life, stating:
Do I look unhappy? I actually enjoy being alone and feel grateful for my life. I’ve experienced a lot of happiness in other aspects of life, so I think it’s okay to let go of marriage. You can’t have everything.
He further elaborated on his viewpoint, acknowledging the trade-offs between different life choices. He mentioned the freedom and enjoyment he derives from his current lifestyle, contrasting it with the joys of family life, particularly parenthood, which he believes he will not experience:
I have the freedom to travel and enjoy life, but I won’t have the happiness that comes from having a family. People say the joy of having children is the greatest, but I don’t think I’ll ever experience that.
Lee Seo Jin also shared a humorous anecdote involving Kim Kwang Gyu from a matchmaking company event. He recounted an incident where Kim Kwang Gyu inquired about his potential ranking within the company. Despite initial hesitation, Kim Kwang Gyu was jokingly informed he would be a ‘D-grade’. When Kim Kwang Gyu pressed to know Lee Seo Jin’s ranking, the company representatives responded that Lee Seo Jin was beyond ranking, implying a status that made ranking irrelevant.
Addressing his own preferences in a partner, Lee Seo Jin kept his answer simple and aligned with his stance on marriage:
I don’t have one. I’m not even thinking about marriage right now. If something happens, it happens, but at this point, I don’t see it in my future.
Concluding his thoughts on the topic with a touch of humor, Lee Seo Jin remarked:
A car accident might happen, but love won’t.
