In the latest episode of MBC’s “Let’s Go to the Moon,” Jung Da-hae, played by Lee Sun-bin, finds herself in a difficult situation. The show, which follows three office women turning to cryptocurrency to escape their financial struggles, has already shown Da-hae dealing with workplace corruption and personal setbacks. Her journey took a dramatic turn when a storm left her stranded in the mountains, adding another layer of challenge to her life.
The Build-Up to the Mountain Crisis
The events leading to Da-hae’s mountain ordeal began with a company contest. After years of being overlooked for promotion, Da-hae was named a final candidate in the Children’s Day promotion plan contest. She charged forward with new energy, saying, “Even a mouse hole can have a day when the sun rises. All right. Let’s go! Be kind, let’s go for promotion!”
However, her hope was short-lived. The night before her big presentation, a burglar tried to break into her home. During the confrontation, she accidentally lost the entire presentation file. Despite remaking the data through tears and staying up all night, she later discovered the competition was not a fair fight. She learned it was actually a made-up contest designed for open recruitment employees, not a real path to promotion for someone like her. This realization crushed her, leading her to lament, “Three years at work where I have endured with a falling mind every day. My hard work ended up in inferiority.” She was then seen running aimlessly down a street, overwhelmed by her feelings.
A Story of Financial Struggle and Friendship
“Let’s Go to the Moon” is based on a bestselling novel and centers on three colleagues from the same company who started work on the same day. Lee Sun-bin’s Jung Da-hae is a low-paid marketing team member who can barely afford her tiny studio apartment. Her two friends are Kang Eun-sang, a savvy colleague who dreams up money-making schemes, and the cautious Kim Ji-song, who is very careful with her money. Tired of their stagnant careers and small salaries, they decide to invest in cryptocurrency, hoping the stock prices will “go to the moon.” Their friendship becomes a key source of support as they face life’s challenges together. After a series of disappointments, it was Eun-sang who confronted Da-hae and Ji-song, telling them, “I don’t think I can see it. You guys are falling down. Is this the only way you’re living like this? Is there anything else left in our lives other than collapsing.”
An Unexpected Confrontation and a Glimmer of Hope
Just before the mountain incident, a small victory briefly lifted Da-hae’s spirits. The cryptocurrency she bought on a whim, following Eun-sang’s suggestion, suddenly increased in value. While the profit was only 500 won (a very small amount of money), it was enough for her to buy some tteokbokki (a popular Korean street food) and share a genuine laugh with her friends, showing a moment of joy after so much stress.
The episode also ended with a significant confrontation involving the executive director Ham Ji-woo, played by Kim Young-dae. After a stressful company dinner where Da-hae was forced to sing in front of everyone, a drunk Da-hae encountered Director Ham. He questioned her about how she knew the song she sang, and when he told her to try “harder next time,” her pent-up frustration exploded. She shouted, “I’m not working hard” and hit him on the forehead. This moment of raw emotion surprised viewers and added a new dynamic to their relationship, leaving everyone wondering what will happen next between them.
