The romantic drama Like Water for Chocolate will return for its second and final season on Sunday, February 15. The six-episode conclusion will air on HBO Latino in the U.S. and stream on HBO Max, with new episodes releasing weekly until the finale on Sunday, March 22. The series, based on Laura Esquivel’s classic novel, will wrap up the epic love story of Tita and Pedro.
The Final Season’s Story
In the final season, Tita finds a chance for a new and peaceful future with Dr. Brown. His presence offers her a life very different from the one she has known. However, this promise of safety is shaken when Pedro returns, reigniting a forbidden passion that challenges all the rules and traditions that have kept them apart.
Their personal struggles play out against the larger backdrop of a Mexico experiencing violence and major social change. This environment forces every character to face their own limits and decide what they are willing to risk for love and freedom. The magic of the kitchen and the power of their emotions remain central as Tita and Pedro discover that some loves are impossible to extinguish.
Executive producer Salma Hayek Pinault shared her thoughts on the upcoming season.
โThis will be a season of change and growth for many of our characters, particularly Tita. We are proud to partner with Max and Endemol again for this new season, which will be an intense journey, full of dramatic but also romantic, magical events. I canโt wait for the audience to experience how our story concludes.โ
