The Love Is Blind: France reunion revealed the dramatic end for one of the show’s married couples. Julie and Charles, who married during the season finale, announced they are no longer together. Their breakup began just one month after the wedding when Charles asked Julie to move out, explaining he needed “space,” a request that left Julie heartbroken and confused.

A Marriage Put on Pause

At the reunion, which released on October 5, 2025, Julie shared her experience of becoming a new bride. After the wedding, she moved into Charles’s home, with both seeing it as a temporary arrangement until they found a place together. However, the situation took a confusing turn just a month later.

Julie recalled, “After a month, he asked me to leave.” Charles told her he needed “space” and “air,” suggesting they should only “see each other from time to time.” For Julie, this was an unacceptable way for a married couple to live. “To me, that’s absurd when you’re married. So it broke my heart. And with hindsight, I realized that it was the beginning of the physical break-up phase,” she said.

Charles Explains His Need for Space

Charles confirmed his need for distance at the reunion. He explained that after the wedding, he felt a need to regain his independence. “After the wedding, it’s true that I needed some air, to regain some mental and physical space. I told Julie that,” Charles stated. He understood that his request was a step backwards for the relationship but insisted he did not intend for it to be a breakup. “I know that for Julie, in our relationship, it was a step backwards. I understand that, but for me, at the time, it didn’t mean breaking up. I just needed to find myself again a little,” he said.

The Final Breakup via Text Message

The story of their separation took a more painful turn for Julie when she described the final end of their marriage. She stated that after she moved out, the communication between them completely broke down. Julie revealed that Charles ended their marriage with a text message. โ€œA couple can have tensions, no problem, so I accepted it. But in the end, I got a break-up text. So that man left me with a text. He ended our marriage with a text,” she told the hosts and audience. She added that during eight months of separation, Charles texted her only twice: one was a “very condescending text,” and the other was to ask for a divorce.

Accusations of a Lack of Commitment

Julie blamed the failure of their marriage on Charles’s “lack of commitment.” She made a serious accusation, claiming that just four days after their wedding, Charles wrote to another woman. She also said that he had asked her to “prove her worth” to him after they were already married. “As if our wedding was an exam rather than a commitment we had to honor,” Julie shared. She felt that as a married couple, people are supposed to “build” things together, not by “kicking” your partner out.

Charles’s Perspective on Respect

Charles defended his actions by explaining that he did not feel respected in the relationship. He stated that he needed a partner who was more gentle and respectful. “I need someone more gentle and more respectful to their husband, because there were times when I didn’t feel respected. And that’s why I’ve distanced myself,” Charles said. He clarified that his intention was not to hurt Julie but to prioritize his own feelings. He later apologized to Julie, assuring her that he never meant to cause her pain. When asked if there was a chance for them to reconnect, Charles answered no, noting that their attitudes were too different.

Other Reunion Updates

The Love Is Blind: France reunion provided updates on other participants. Another couple who married in the pods, Chloe and Alexandre, revealed they are still legally married but are currently separated. Alexandre shared that he had tried to develop deeper feelings for Chloe but could not, citing unresolved doubts. Another engaged couple from the pods, Kim and Thomas, confirmed they are no longer together, with Kim explaining that their differences in mentality and background were too great to overcome as a couple.
