The Love Is Blind Season 9 reunion brought the Denver pod squad back together, and the special delivered major surprises. For the first time in the show’s history, no couples got married, and the reunion revealed what has happened in the year and a half since filming ended. From a secret baby and post-show dating drama to emotional confrontations, the cast had plenty to talk about.

Sparkle Megan’s Secret Motherhood

One of the biggest surprises came from Megan Walerius, known as “Sparkle Meg.” During the reunion, she revealed that she has become a mother, a shocking update for her fellow cast members and fans.

Megan told hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey, “I am a mom now. I had a baby boy two and a half months ago.” She introduced her son, Brooks, and shared that she now knows “more than ever I was meant on this earth to be a mom.”

This news was particularly striking because, during the season finale, Megan had expressed doubts about her readiness for motherhood after ending her engagement with Jordan Keltner, who is a single father. She had said in a confessional, “Maybe I’m just not cut out to be a stepmom. Honestly, this has me questioning if I’m even cut out to be a mom.”

Megan explained that after filming ended, she was introduced to her new partner, Paul, through a mutual friend in July. The couple got pregnant just three months into dating. Paul was in the audience supporting her during the reunion. Megan said she kept her pregnancy private, even having a phone-free baby shower to protect her family’s privacy.

Her ex-fiancรฉ, Jordan, reacted supportively. He shared that he had learned about the pregnancy before the reunion after someone sent him a message on Instagram. He then reached out to Megan for confirmation. “If I would have found out right here, right now, I think that would have been jarring,” he said. He also added, “They’re gonna be great parents.”

The Resolution of Ring Gate

The reunion also addressed the unresolved drama between Kacie McIntosh and Patrick Suzuki. Their engagement ended just hours after they met in person, and a disagreement over the engagement ring continued after the show.

Patrick had wanted the ring back, while Kacie claimed he initially told her she could keep it. She brought the ring to the reunion, and to settle the matter, they played a basketball game with special guest Chris Paul of the LA Clippers. After a series of free throws, Kacie won the game and kept the ring, though Patrick later gave it back to her anyway.

Reflecting on their breakup, Kacie said it “broke my heart” to rewatch their final conversation. She explained that she was trying to protect Patrick by expressing her doubts about their attraction in a confessional rather than to him directly.

Post-Show Dating and Love Triangles

The reunion revealed that several cast members dated each other after the experiment ended, creating complicated love triangles.

Kacie and Joe Ferrucci confirmed they dated for about a month and a half after his engagement to Madison Maidenberg ended. Kacie noted, “It got too intense too quick.” Joe agreed that it “ultimately didn’t work out.”

However, Madison believed that Joe’s connection with Kacie affected their own engagement. She stated, “I actually think that whatever their connection was affected my engagement.” Joe and Kacie both denied this, with Joe insisting his relationship with Kacie started after his engagement had ended.

Kait Nemunaitis also revealed she went on a date with Brenden Guthrie, who had a strong pod connection with Annie. Kait said the social dynamics back in Denver were “messy,” claiming that “everyone was dating each other.”

Addressing Accusations of Love-Bombing

Nick Amato addressed accusations from Kait that he “love-bombed” her and his ex-fiancรฉe, Annie Lancaster, by using similar romantic lines in the pods.

Kait told Nick, “It felt like you went into ChatGPT and looked up pickup lines for how to get a girl to fall for you. You were saying the same things to Annie.”

Nick apologized for his behavior, saying, “It was really wrong to say [‘I love you’] when I had another connection.” Annie, however, defended Nick, feeling his words were genuine in the context of the experiment.

Unresolved Conflicts and New Relationships

Other couples also used the reunion to address their breakups. Ali Lima and Anton Yarosh, who broke up at the altar, disagreed about the reasons for their split. Ali felt Anton was a different person outside the pods, while Anton believed their lifestyles were incompatible. Anton revealed he is now in a happy relationship with his girlfriend, Miranda.

Kalybriah Haskin and Edmond L. Harvey discussed her feeling that his frequent crying was a form of manipulation. Edmond denied this, explaining he was just speaking from his heart. Despite their difficult conversation, they ended with a hug.

A Season of Firsts and Fan Reaction

Love Is Blind Season 9 was historic for the show, as it was the first season where no couples got married. The reunion provided closure on the dramatic outcomes and gave fans a look at where the Denver singles are now.

The reunion special is available to stream on Netflix.
