Filming Update for Mayor of Kingstown Season 5
Production started in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 13, 2026. The team has been working for nearly three months. Renner confirmed on June 1, 2026, that filming is close to wrapping up.
The final season will have eight episodes. Previous seasons had ten episodes each. Paramount+ ordered the fifth and final season on January 5, 2026, just days after the Season 4 finale aired on December 28, 2025.
David Morse joins the cast as a series regular for Season 5. He plays Russell Hardy, an FBI agent sent to Kingstown. Nรฉstor Carbonell, known for his work in Shลgun and Lost, also joins in a recurring role as Enrique Molina, a boss who comes to Kingstown to avenge a missing relative.
Story Details for the Final Season
The official synopsis for Mayor of Kingstown Season 5 sets up a dangerous conflict. After the murder of Tracy, Mike McLusky (Renner) and his brother Kyle (Taylor Handley) take revenge on a man named Callahan. This brings FBI Agent Russell Hardy to town.
Hardy is described as “a true lawman” who threatens to expose all of Mike’s secrets. He could destroy the fragile power balance in Kingstown. The town operates on a system where the McLusky family controls the relationship between criminals and the police. An FBI investigation puts everything at risk.
Renner’s warning that “no one is safe” suggests that major characters could die before the series ends. The actor previously mentioned during a panel at Florida Supercon that the writers found “a really cool end” for the show.
