Derulo explained, “He had a great idea and was like, ‘How about if we did the clash of worlds thing? I don’t know why more people aren’t asking me to bring what I do to a different [musical genre].’” The idea of merging their musical influences and creating something entirely new became the driving force behind their collaboration.

Bublé, expressing admiration for Derulo’s musical prowess, stated, “Really, truthfully, I love him and I loved his music. He revealed, “I was like, ‘Why is no one taking advantage of this and taking these two worlds and collapsing them together?’”

I got the idea and I knew in 30 seconds it was gonna be a huge hit.”
