After captivating global audiences as Eleven in Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown is staying with Netflix for her next major project. The actress will star in and executive produce Prism, a new supernatural series where she will use her unique abilities to communicate with ghosts. The project, which is currently in development, also brings Rachel Brosnahan on board as an executive producer.

The Story of Prism

Prism will feature Brown as Cassie, a woman gifted with the ability to see and talk to apparitions. Her life takes a dramatic turn when a mysterious new phenomenon causes ghosts, referred to as “visitors,” to appear all over the world. Cassie must race to uncover the cause of this global event before it leads to catastrophic consequences. The series is expected to explore the blurring lines between the living and the dead as Cassie works to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control.

The show is based on a short story of the same name that was originally featured in the magazine Assemble Artifacts. The series was developed in-house with writer Nick Shafir, who is attached to co-produce.

The Creative Team Behind the Scenes

Etan Frankel has been tapped as the showrunner for Prism. Frankel’s previous work includes writing for Shameless and serving as the creator and showrunner for Joe vs. Carole. He is currently an executive producer on the Netflix series Big Mistakes.

The series is a reunion for Brown and the production company AGBO, run by directors Anthony and Joe Russo. This marks their second collaboration following the sci-fi blockbuster The Electric State. AGBO is also known for producing Netflix’s The Gray Man and several Marvel films. Rachel Brosnahan and her production partner Russell Kahn will executive produce through their company, Scrap Paper Pictures.

Brown will also executive produce through her own banner, PCMA. Other executive producers include Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, Alessandra Maman, and Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen of Assemble Media.

How Prism Fits Into Millie Bobby Brown’s Career

Prism represents a natural next step for Brown, who has become a defining star for Netflix. She first gained worldwide fame playing Eleven in the cultural phenomenon Stranger Things, which will conclude with its five-season run in November and December. She also leads the popular Enola Holmes film franchise, with a third installment expected in 2026.

Sources close to the production have indicated that starring in Prism will not prevent Brown from fulfilling her commitments to other announced projects, including the final season of Stranger Things and the upcoming Enola Holmes sequel.

For Rachel Brosnahan, Prism marks a return to Netflix, where she had early career roles in House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black. She is best known for her Emmy-winning lead role in Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and recently appeared as Lois Lane in the film Superman.

The Road Ahead for Stranger Things

Before Prism arrives, fans will see Millie Bobby Brown reprise her role as Eleven one final time. The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is scheduled to be released in three parts.

The first volume, consisting of four episodes, will premiere on November 26. The second volume, with three episodes, will be released on Christmas Day, December 25. The series finale will arrive on New Year’s Eve, December 31.

Co-creator Ross Duffer recently revealed the runtimes for the first four episodes on social media, confirming that the episodes will be substantial, with the fourth episode, “Sorcerer,” running for one hour and twenty-three minutes.
