MobLand Season 2 just delivered its most dangerous hour yet. Episode 8, titled “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” arrived on Paramount+ on Friday, November 6, 2026, and it changed the game for Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) and everyone around him.

The episode picked up right after Harry’s cold-blooded strike on Frankie Cooper’s son, Michael, inside Newgate Prison. That move was meant to force Frankie to back down. Instead, it lit a fire under Frankie and opened the door for a fresh threat named Kelly “Mad Dog” O’Connor โ€” a man with a violent past and a personal reason to come for Harry’s family.

The Prison Hit That Changed Everything

Harry did not just have Michael killed. He engineered it with unsettling precision.

Michael was moved to the solitary wing of Newgate Prison after Frankie pulled strings to keep him safe. Harry explained the flaw in that plan to Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine): a corrupt prison officer will always take a bigger payoff. Harry reportedly put ยฃ200,000 in a black bag in front of a custodial manager, and Michael was found dead in his cell shortly after.

Frankie got the news and did not break. He got angrier. Harry called Frankie and told him to end the war. Frankie refused, vowing to destroy Harry and the Harrigans instead.

Tom Hardy has said Harry is “often five steps ahead” but that Season 2 takes that advantage away, leaving him “on the back foot” and reacting under pressure.

That pressure is now coming from more than one direction.

Mad Dog Steps Out of the Shadows

The episode opened in Kerry, Ireland, at the funeral of Colm O’Connor โ€” the man known as Medusa. Medusa was killed earlier in the season on Maeve Harrigan’s orders, with Eddie and Gina carrying out the assignment. What Maeve did not account for was Medusa’s son.

Kelly “Mad Dog” O’Connor walked out of prison for murder just in time to bury his father. Standing over the coffin with a bottle of whiskey, he made a promise that should worry every Harrigan and every Da Souza.

“I’ll find them, Daddy,” Mad Dog said, pouring whiskey over his father’s coffin.

Mad Dog is not guessing. CCTV footage from his father’s local pub shows Gina clearly visible, tailing Medusa before the killing. Eddie’s face stayed hidden, but Gina’s did not. Mad Dog now has a face and a target.

The news of Mad Dog’s release reached Cotswolds, where Eddie panicked. He confronted Maeve in a sauna, asking why she sent him and Gina to kill a man with a dangerous son. Maeve defended the assignment as a test โ€” and then turned her attention back to Gina with a chilling suggestion.

Maeve’s Quiet Cruelty

Helen Mirren’s Maeve Harrigan remains the show’s most unsettling presence. In Episode 8, she advised Gina to stage a suicide attempt. Her reasoning: a crisis might force Harry to pull Gina out of the Cotswolds and away from the Harrigans altogether.

Maeve also kept pressure on Eddie. She told him his test was not over and that he would have to give up the privileges of the Harrigan name if he wanted it to end. Eddie is trapped between a family that does not fully trust him and a new enemy who has already seen his face on camera.

Harry and Jan: A Marriage at the Breaking Point

The most grounded scene in the episode belonged to Harry and Jan (Joanne Froggatt). Their marriage has been crumbling all season. Jan stabbed Harry in the Season 2 opener. She also killed Donnie, a murder Harry quietly cleaned up in Episode 7.

The two met at the Da Souza house. Harry told Jan the truth about his work, using Michael’s death as proof of how far he is willing to go. Jan understood. She also knew she could not forgive herself for Donnie. When Harry suggested she go for a run with Gina, Jan turned the question back on him: could he ever leave the criminal life? Harry smiled. The answer was already clear.

Conrad Harrigan’s Secret Comes Out

Pierce Brosnan’s Conrad Harrigan is losing his grip. The episode gave viewers a dark piece of his past through a conversation with Eddie.

Conrad spoke about the man he believed was his father, Liam Patrick Francis, a drunk who abused Conrad’s mother daily. On her deathbed, Conrad’s mother told him Liam was not his real father. His biological father was a man named Finn Burke from Killarney. Conrad killed Liam after learning the truth.

That confession landed while Conrad was already acting erratically. In a separate scene, he pulled a rifle on Kevin and Bella, threatening to kill them if they told anyone what they knew. The Harrigan patriarch is not just losing control of his empire. He is losing control of himself.

Who Is Mad Dog O’Connor?

Kelly “Mad Dog” O’Connor is played by a new addition to the MobLand cast, and the character arrives with a rรฉsumรฉ that fits his nickname. He was in prison for murder before his release in Episode 8. His father, Colm “Medusa” O’Connor, was a criminal figure whose death was treated almost casually by Maeve โ€” a detail that makes Mad Dog’s revenge feel inevitable.

Mad Dog holds Eddie responsible for his father’s death for now. He does not yet know that Harry was the one who carried out the killing. When that information surfaces, the danger to Harry’s family will grow.

The Harrigan War Is Now a Three-Front Fight

Season 2 has been building a war on multiple sides. Frankie Cooper (Johnny Flynn) is fighting for control of North London, backed by an American diplomat with hidden criminal interests. Conrad is unraveling from the inside. Now Mad Dog has entered the picture with a personal vendetta against the people closest to Harry.

Hardy described the season as a story where the plan was to “pull everyone apart and then bring them back together against a fearless adversary”.

That adversary now has a name and a target list.
