Namkoong Min might return to KBS after seven years with a new romance thriller drama. Reports say he is considering the lead role in “The Completion of Marriage.” The drama is about a man fighting to save his kidnapped wife before their divorce is finalized.
The actorโs agency confirmed he received the offer and is reviewing it positively. If he accepts, this will be his first KBS drama since “Doctor Prisoner” in 2019. The new series is expected to air in 2026.
In “The Completion of Marriage,” Namkoong Min would play Kang Tae Joo, a former neurosurgeon turned hospital director. His character must confront a dangerous criminal while dealing with past regrets about his failing marriage. The story mixes suspense with deep emotional conflict.
Before this project, Namkoong Min will appear in the upcoming drama “Our Movie” with Jeon Yeo Been. The melodrama premieres in June 2025 on SBS. It tells the story of a burnt-out film director and an actress facing a terminal illness.
Namkoong Min is known for hit dramas like “Good Manager,” “Hot Stove League,” “One Dollar Lawyer,” and “My Dearest.” His versatility across genres makes him one of Koreaโs most respected actors. Fans are excited to see him in a romance thriller, a genre he hasnโt explored much before.
