Netflix has shared a major update for One Piece Season 2, bringing back the beloved Straw Hat crew in a new clip. The video hints at the live-action debut of Tony Tony Chopper, one of the most awaited characters. Fans can expect more details during Netflix’s Tudum event on May 31.

The clip shows Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero Gibson (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji) having a fun slumber party. Their playful banter suggests Chopper will join the crew soon. The video ends with animated reindeer footprints, teasing his appearance.

Netflix also confirmed new cast members for Season 2. These include Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, and Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha. Other additions are David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday.

Season 2 will adapt key arcs from Eiichiro Oda’s manga, including Loguetown, Drum Island, and Whiskey Peak. The Straw Hats will enter the Grand Line, facing new enemies like Smoker and Baroque Works agents. Chopper’s introduction is expected during the Drum Island storyline.

Eiichiro Oda visited the set in South Africa and praised the cast. He said, “Seeing them all in person convinced me: They were absolutely the perfect choice!” The show’s co-showrunner, Matt Owens, confirmed Chopper’s role, calling him a “big part” of the season.

Fans are excited but nervous about Chopper’s live-action design. Netflix has teased his silhouette before, promising an accurate adaptation. The Tudum event may reveal his full look and voice actor. The first season was a global hit, topping Netflix charts in 46 countries.

One Piece follows Luffy’s quest to become King of the Pirates. The live-action series stays true to the manga, with Oda closely involved. Season 2 has finished filming, but Netflix has not announced a release date yet. Rumors suggest it could arrive later this year.

Other Netflix shows like Wednesday, Stranger Things, and Squid Game will also get updates at Tudum. The event streams live on May 31 at 5 PM PT. Fans can watch the One Piece Season 1 recap on Netflix before the new season arrives.
