A key character from the second season of Peacemaker is reportedly set to appear in the next Superman film, Man of Tomorrow. According to a new report, Tim Meadows will reprise his role as the amusing A.R.G.U.S. agent, Langston Fleury, connecting the hit HBO Max series directly to the expanding DC Universe.

Who is Langston Fleury?

In Peacemaker Season 2, Langston Fleury is an A.R.G.U.S. agent assigned by the new director, Rick Flag Sr., to supervise John Economos. His job is to ensure that Economos properly monitors Peacemaker and reports any use of his interdimensional portal device. The character brings a unique humor to the show, largely due to his inability to remember his fellow agents’ names, instead giving them strange nicknames.

A particularly memorable trait is his “bird blindness,” which means he cannot tell different bird species apart. This leads to a hilarious situation where his team is bested by Peacemaker’s eagle, Eagley, whom Fleury later describes in a report as a “super powered duck.”

The Growing DCU Connection

The report of Fleury’s return highlights the ongoing effort to weave stories from different DC properties together. Peacemaker has already established several connections to the larger DCU, most notably with the appearance of Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor and his aide, Sydney Happersen, in the show’s second season.

The plot of Peacemaker Season 2 revolves around a device called the Quantum Unfolding Chamber (QUC), which allows for travel between dimensions. Lex Luthor’s deal with Rick Flag Sr. to help track this technology was a major storyline, setting the stage for larger events. With A.R.G.U.S. playing a significant role in these events, it creates a logical path for an agent like Fleury to appear in a film like Man of Tomorrow.

What We Know About ‘Man of Tomorrow’

Directed by James Gunn, Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027. Gunn has described the film as a follow-up to Superman, but not a direct sequel, and has stated it is “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.”

The official plot will involve Superman and Lex Luthor being forced to work together against a much larger, common threat. Gunn shared on the Howard Stern show:

โ€œItโ€™s a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat.โ€

While the main cast includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, the reported addition of Tim Meadows would add a familiar comedic face from the TV side of the DCU. It is expected that A.R.G.U.S. will have some involvement in the film’s story, given its increasing prominence.

A Bridge Between Shows and Movies

This potential character crossover continues James Gunn’s strategy of creating a tightly interconnected DC Universe. Peacemaker is effectively acting as a prelude to Man of Tomorrow, introducing characters and concepts that will have larger ramifications on the big screen.

The final episode of Peacemaker Season 2 is scheduled for release on October 9, 2025, on HBO Max.
