A brand new poster for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 has been released, offering a thrilling first look at the perilous journey based on The Sea of Monsters. The series will return to Disney+ on December 10, 2025. The key art depicts Percy and his friends battling turbulent, monster-filled waters, signaling a dramatic shift from the relative safety of Camp Half-Blood to a more dangerous and epic adventure.

Poster Details and Story Hints

The new poster, tagged with the phrase “The sea of monsters is calling,” sets a tense and exciting mood for the upcoming season. It shows Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood struggling through stormy seas under a gloomy sky. The artwork suggests that this is no ordinary summer at camp. The raging waves and dark shadows hint at greater threats and the hidden dangers of the Sea of Monsters.

The visual style of the poster subtly points to one of the season’s main objectives: the search for the Golden Fleece. While not directly shown, the atmosphere implies this magical item’s importance to the story. The poster creates a world where nothing is secureโ€”not Camp Half-Blood, not friendships, and certainly not the sea.

Character Evolution in Season 2

The poster also highlights changes in the main characters, reflecting their growth and the new challenges they face.

Percy Jackson, played by Walker Scobell, appears more serious and ready for a fight compared to his earlier demeanor. This shift aligns with behind-the-scenes reports that Percy and his friends are heading into a more serious and dangerous voyage this time.

Annabeth Chase, portrayed by Leah Sava Jeffries, also shows a change. While always known for her wit and confidence, she now carries a more serious expression, possibly hinting at emotional baggage from past events.

Grover Underwood, played by Aryan Simhadri, is featured in the group shot. His presence is particularly significant as fans of the book know his disappearance is a major plot point in The Sea of Monsters. His appearance in the official art suggests his role will be crucial to the story. The poster also includes new and returning faces like Clarisse, Luke, and Percy’s cyclops half-brother, Tyson.

The Season 2 Plot and New Cast

The official synopsis for the new season reveals that Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood after a year away to find his world turned upside down. The camp’s protective borders are failing, his friendship with Annabeth is changing, he discovers he has a cyclops brother, and Grover is missing. To set things right, Percy must venture into the deadly Sea of Monsters.

“After Camp Half-Bloodโ€™s protective border is breached, Percy Jackson embarks on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend Grover and the one thing that may save the camp โ€” the legendary Golden Fleece,” states the official trailer synopsis.

The quest to find the Golden Fleece is essential to healing the poisoned Thalia’s Tree and restoring the camp’s magical boundaries. The season will also introduce a notable guest cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, and Courtney B. Vance as Zeus, who takes over the role from the late Lance Reddick. The Gray Sisters will be played by Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho.

A Bigger Scale Adventure

Executive producers have promised a larger-scale adventure for Season 2. Executive producer Dan Shotz shared excitement about the scope of the new season.

“Season 2 is epic. It is so huge, what we were able to build. We are on the Sea of Monsters adventure,” said Shotz. “So, we are out at sea. We are on a 175-foot ironclad ship. We are on cruise ships. We are in chariot races. We are fighting incredible monsters. It is so massive and we cannot wait for you guys to see”.

The season will premiere with two episodes on December 10, 2025, with new episodes released every Wednesday on Disney+.
