A new poster for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 has given fans their first look at the show’s version of the Sirens, and it signals a shift towards the more dangerous and horror-tinged corners of Greek mythology. The mythical sea creatures are portrayed as scarier and sharper, setting a darker tone for the upcoming adventures in the Sea of Monsters.
The release also confirms that a key scene involving these Sirens will see a significant change from the original book, offering new character moments for Percy and Annabeth.
A Sinister New Threat
A newly released poster showcases a much more sinister interpretation of the Sirens. The design moves away from any soft or whimsical accents, instead presenting them as a genuine and terrifying threat. This fresh look promises that the show’s second season will fully embrace the perilous nature of Greek myths.
In classical mythology, Sirens are figures known for their hypnotic voices and eerie beauty, which they use to lure travelers off course with their irresistible songs. In the world of Percy Jackson, they act as agents of threat, creating a trance-like state that makes individuals forget their goals and inviting great danger. This new visual style confirms they will be a major obstacle for the young demigods.
The Sea of Monsters Adventure
Season 2 adapts the second book in Rick Riordan’s series, The Sea of Monsters. The story sees Percy Jackson’s return to Camp Half-Blood, only to find its protective borders are failing. To save it, he must retrieve the legendary Golden Fleece from the treacherous Sea of Monsters, also known as the Bermuda Triangle.
Percy will not be alone on this quest. He is joined by his wise friend Annabeth Chase and his surprising new half-brother, a young Cyclops named Tyson. Their mission is also a rescue operation, as their satyr friend Grover Underwood has been captured by the monstrous adult Cyclops, Polyphemus. The season will consist of eight episodes, with the first two premiering on December 10, 2025, on Disney+ and Hulu.
A “Huge Change” from the Book
While the show has been praised for its faithfulness to the source material, the upcoming Sirens scene will feature a notable departure from the book. Annabeth actress Leah Jeffries confirmed the change, noting that she loves how the revised scene came together.
Percy actor Walker Scobell provided more detail, explaining that the scene will give Percy and Annabeth more time to open up to each other and have a meaningful conversation about their relationship. This differs from the book’s narrative, which is told strictly from Percy’s first-person point of view. Scobell described filming the scene as “almost terrifying,” feeling the weight of every fan’s expectation.
“There’s scenes like that where you feel like every single Percy Jackson fan in the world is watching this happen. You can feel all their eyes on you while you’re acting,” Scobell said.
This character-driven approach is a change that the cast believes fans will enjoy, using the visual medium of television to deepen the impact of the story.

A Bigger and More Action-Packed Season
The new season promises to be a larger-scale affair with higher stakes. In addition to Percy’s unsanctioned quest, the story will follow other characters on their own journeys. Viewers will see how Grover ended up in Polyphemus’ clutches during his search for the god Pan. It will also follow Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares, on her own sanctioned mission to retrieve the Fleece, during which she gets to command a warship manned by ghostly soldiers.
The cast from the first season, including Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, will return. They are joined by new series regulars and guest stars, including Daniel Diemer as the kind-hearted Cyclops Tyson, Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, and Andra Day as the goddess Athena.
The first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 arrive on Disney+ and Hulu on December 10, 2025, with new episodes releasing weekly.
