The latest episode of Power Book IV: Force brings a major power shift. Tommy Egan successfully avenges a personal loss, permanently removes a major rival, and proves he can outmaneuver the law. Episode 5, titled “The Last Dance,” is a turning point that reshapes the entire season. Old enemies returned, but by the end, Tommy stood more firmly in control of Chicago than ever before.

Tommy Egan Sets His Final Trap for Claudia Flynn

After the death of his close friend Liliana, Tommy Egan had one clear target: Claudia Flynn. Claudia, finally out of prison, believed she had the upper hand with help from mayoral candidate Stacy Marks. Stacy agreed to help Claudia set a trap for Tommy, hoping to get him arrested or killed.

However, Tommy was playing a longer and smarter game. He first contacted Claudia directly, pretending he wanted to form an alliance against their common enemies. While this made Claudia suspicious, it also made her overconfident. At the same time, Tommy worked to undermine Stacy Marks. He revealed he was the secret donor behind a large contribution to her campaign, giving him political leverage over her. Tommy used this pressure to force Stacy to remove the police protection guarding Claudia’s girlfriend, Elise. With Elise left vulnerable, Tommy found his opening. He offered her one million dollars in cash to betray Claudia and reveal her entire plan. Elise took the deal and left town, leaving Claudia completely exposed.

She tried to act like Tommyโ€™s equal. She called herself the last true Flynn. But Tommy controlled the room. He controlled the moment.

Believing she was walking into an ambush she had set, Claudia broke into Tommy’s loft. Instead, she found Tommy waiting for her. He knew every step of her plan. In their final confrontation, Claudia admitted to killing Liliana. Tommy then ended the long-running feud, eliminating the last major Flynn family threat in a violent showdown. Her death sent a powerful message across Chicago.

Diamond and Jenard Unleash a Violent Message to the Yardies

While Tommy dealt with Claudia, his business partners faced a crisis of their own. The Yardies, a crew Tommy had conflict with when he first arrived in Chicago, boldly attacked CBI territory. They killed one of CBI’s soldiers, sparking immediate rage, particularly from Jenard. Jenard wanted instant, bloody revenge for the attack.

His brother, Diamond, proposed a different strategy. He wanted to appear to recruit the Yardies into their drug coalition, a move that seemed naive to Jenard and others. Diamond and Jenard set up a meeting with the Yardie boss, Zamos. They showed off CBI’s high-quality product and even put down their weapons to create a sense of peace. Diamond then made his true demand: he wanted the specific shooter who killed their man handed over for punishment. When Zamos refused, Diamond gave a signal. Hidden CBI gunmen opened fire, killing Zamos and his entire crew in a swift and brutal ambush.

This massacre served a dual purpose. It avenged their fallen soldier and sent a clear, terrifying warning to every other crew in Chicago: challenging CBI means annihilation. This act of raw power, done without Tommy’s knowledge, showed that Diamond and Jenard were making major moves on their own, signaling a potential shift in their loyalty to Tommy.

Major Fallout and Hidden Secrets After the Chaos

The deaths of Claudia and the Yardies created immediate waves that will define the rest of the season. Vic Flynn, who had just begun reconciling with his sister Claudia, was shattered by her death. This pain, combined with offers of support from his father Walter’s old connections in Milwaukee and New York, is expected to harden Vic and push him into a full-scale war against Tommy.

On the political front, Stacy Marks suffered a significant defeat. She lost control of the Yardies, lost her leverage with Elise, and was outmaneuvered by Tommy, who now holds political power over her. Her ambition blinded her to the dangers of the street, and she is now in a very weak position.

Perhaps the most important secret is held by Mireya. After cleaning Claudia’s blood from Tommy’s furniture, she discovered she is pregnant with Tommy’s child. Faced with the brutal reality of Tommy’s life, she chose not to tell him her news. This hidden pregnancy is a major story that will inevitably come out at a critical time.

The episode ended with Tommy in a stronger position, having avenged Liliana and defeated Claudia. But new threats are forming. Vic is grief-stricken and armed with new allies, Diamond and Jenard are acting independently, and Tommy’s personal life is on the verge of a major change. The board has been reset, but the game in Chicago is only getting more dangerous.
