“Queen Mantis” is a crime thriller. It tells the story of Jung Yi-shin (played by Go Hyun-jung), a serial killer known as “The Mantis.” She killed five men 23 years ago. Now, a new killer is copying her style. The police ask for her help to solve the new crimes.

Yi-shin agrees to help but has conditions. She will only talk through her son, Cha Soo-yeol (played by Jang Dong-yoon). Soo-yeol is a police detective who has hated his mother for years. He must work with her to stop the new killer.

The first episode showed a brutal murder that reminded detectives of Yi-shin’s past crimes. Soo-yeol is dealing with his own anger and trauma from his mother’s actions. He must face her again after 23 years.
