The upcoming horror film Next has confirmed a dynamic cast, featuring Red Velvet’s Yeri, along with Lee Chan Hyung, Oh So Hyun, and others. Directed by Son Dong Wan, the film delves into a thrilling mystery centered on ghostly encounters and secrets from the past.

Star-Studded Cast Announced

The cast of Next has been officially unveiled, showcasing a group of rising talents. Yeri, known for her role in the popular K-pop group Red Velvet, will play Ja Young, a responsible and compassionate leader of a group of classmates. Ja Young is deeply involved in mediumistic activities, hoping to find her missing older sister.

Lee Chan Hyung will take on the role of Dong Joon, a character with a mix of rugged and sensitive qualities who harbors deep feelings for Ja Young. Oh So Hyun will portray Ye Eun, a character caught in a complex dynamic with both Ja Young and Dong Joon.

Additional cast members include Seo Dong Hyun as Ki Ho, Kim Eun Bi as Mi Yeon, the model student with a prickly demeanor, and Park Seo Yeon as Seo Woo, Ja Young’s younger sister.

Yeri’s Expanding Acting Career

Yeri, a prominent member of Red Velvet, has already made significant strides in her acting career. In 2021, she starred as the female lead in the web series Blue Birthday, where she played Oh Ha Rin, a character who discovers time-travel abilities after the death of her best friend.

Following that, in May 2023, Yeri was cast as the female lead in the Wavve web series BITCH X RICH. In this series, she played Baek Je Na, the influential queen of Diamond 6 and a prime suspect in a murder case.

With her previous roles in fantasy and thriller genres, fans are eager to see how Yeri will tackle the horror genre in Next.
