The conflict in Sherwood Forest and the royal court reached a boiling point in Robin Hood Episode 7. Titled “Thieves with a Purpose,” the episode, which became available for streaming on December 7, 2025, on MGM+, saw major characters choose sides, launch bold attacks, and form surprising new bonds that reshape the fight for England’s future.
Marian’s Heartbreak and a Dangerous New Mission
After learning the devastating truth that Robert Locksley (Jack Patten) is both her lover and the outlaw Robin Hood responsible for her brother’s death, Marian (Lauren McQueen) confronted him in the forest. Robert admitted his identity and explained her brother’s death was an accident, but Marian could not accept his violent path.
She tells Robert she cannot support his violent path. She ends their relationship and rides away. She believes this is the last time they will ever meet.
Returning to Queen Eleanor’s service heartbroken, Marian’s life took another dramatic turn. While alone, she was rescued from attackers by a charming stranger who revealed himself to be Prince John (Graeme Thomas King), returned unannounced from France. He was instantly taken with her and arranged for her promotion from chambermaid to lady-in-waiting, placing her closer to the queen.

Queen Eleanor, however, distrusts her son’s ambitions. Fearing Prince John plans to challenge his brother Richard for the throne, she gave Marian a perilous assignment: feign closeness to John and spy on him. Marian agreed, embedding herself in a web of royal deception where her growing attraction to John makes her true loyalties unclear.
Robin Hood’s Ruthless Strike Against the Normans
Fully embracing his role as leader, Robert directed his growing band of outlaws toward a bold new target: Baron Warwick, a cruel Norman lord known for his brutality against Saxons. The attack was a high-risk mission meant to weaken Norman control and steal gold to feed the people.

The ambush in Sherwood Forest was swift and violent. Using the terrain to their advantage, Robin Hood’s men defeated Warwick’s guards. After forcing Warwick to surrender his wealth, Robert delivered a final, brutal warning, stabbing the Baron before leaving him as a message to others who profit from Saxon suffering. The stolen gold was distributed among villages, winning more loyalty for the outlaws’ cause.
The Sheriff Declares Open War
The Sheriff of Nottingham, now certain of Robert’s identity, responded to the attack on Warwick with extreme force. He arrested Lord Gamewell, Robert’s uncle, along with other Saxon elders, to use them as hostages to lure Robin Hood into the open.
Simultaneously, the Sheriff’s conflict with Marian’s father, the Earl of Huntingdon (Steven Waddington), erupted into violence. Huntingdon had been quietly rallying other nobles against the Sheriff’s failing leadership. In response, the Sheriff rode to the Locksley estate and publicly beat Huntingdon, threatening to kill him if the rebellion continued. This violent confrontation officially turned them from uneasy allies into open enemies.

New Romances Amidst the Chaos
As old relationships shattered, new ones began. Following her painful split from Robert, Marian found herself drawn to the charismatic Prince John, though her mission to spy on him complicates her true feelings.
In Sherwood, a heartbroken Robert found unexpected comfort with Rosemary (Erica Ford), the woman who had previously disguised herself as the forester “Ralph Miller”. Rosemary, who has long cared for Robert, approached him openly, and the episode ended with them sharing a kiss, signaling a new romantic chapter born from loss.
At court, the relationship between Priscilla (Lydia Peckham) and William Marshal (Oscar Salem) grew more serious. William formally asked the Sheriff for permission to court Priscilla, and despite the Sheriff’s warnings about William’s past, he approved. Priscilla was initially upset William asked her father first but was ultimately happy, potentially drawing her into the kingdom’s deeper political games.
The Rising Cost of Rebellion
While the raid on Baron Warwick was a tactical success, its consequences were immediate and severe. With his uncle and other Saxon leaders now prisoners, Robert faces an impossible choice between his cause and his family. The outlaws are divided on whether to attempt a rescue immediately or wait.
The episode solidified the battle lines for the final chapters of the season. Robert is now a committed rebel leader, but his actions endanger everyone close to him. Marian is trapped between duty to her queen, lingering feelings for Robert, and a dangerous new connection to Prince John. The Sheriff has made his most aggressive move yet, promising a direct and brutal response to any challenge to his power.
