What Happens in Episode 7?

At the same time, Marian learned the difficult truth that Rob was involved in her brother’s death, complicating their relationship.
In Episode 7, “Thieves with a Purpose,” the story pushes forward. Rob, now in a secret pact with Queen Eleanor, is driven to strike against Baron Warick. This bold action prompts the Sheriff to retaliate by jailing Rob’s uncle, Gamewell, and other Saxon elders. Meanwhile, Prince John makes an appearance, sparking an unexpected attraction for Marian. Queen Eleanor secretly enlists Marian to spy on her son, placing Marian in a position of great danger.
As Connie Nielsen, who plays Queen Eleanor, told Newsweek, “I think this one has really taken care to bring a lot of historical context into the whole setup…foreigners have occupied land, have taken over entire family seats. And that has created a lot of tension and caused a lot of pain.”
This episode will see Rob and his band of outlaws moving from simple acts of revenge to a more purposeful rebellion. The political turbulence created by Queen Eleanor’s presence leads to secret alliances and difficult choices for every character.

Sean Bean highlighted the show’s approach, noting the inclusion of historical context and other known characters from the legend. He said, > “It’s interesting to see the historical context, and welcome the fact they brought in other characters like Guy of Gisborne and various other historical characters, which we know it’s a tale of fiction. But these other characters did actually exist. And it’s really interesting how they intertwine that with the authentic historical aspect.”
