South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN has released their new music video for “Thunder”, the lead single from their fifth studio album Happy Burstday. The group dropped the video on May 26, 2025, marking their 10th anniversary since debut. The song is a high-energy EDM dance track with a dark, edgy aesthetic.

The “Thunder” music video shows the 13 members in stylish outfits, riding bikes and dancing under thunderstorm effects. The visuals match the song’s theme of fearlessness and transformation. The lyrics talk about embracing change and living boldly.

“Falling, flash, whole-body crash / Circuits going crazy, out of control / Now, I’m funked up, step on the gas / Everybody say, ‘Woah-oh, woah-oh’” โ€” SEVENTEEN, “Thunder” lyrics

The album “Happy Burstday” includes 16 tracksโ€”three group songs and 13 solo tracks, one from each member. Big-name producers like Pharrell Williams and Timbaland worked on the album. Hoshi’s solo track “Damage” features Timbaland.

To celebrate their anniversary, SEVENTEEN held a special performance on Jamsu Bridge in Seoul on May 25. They sang fan favorites like “Hot” and “Very Nice” before previewing “Thunder”. The bridgeโ€™s fountains lit up in sync with the music.

“This was all possible thanks to you guys, Carat,” the members said during the event. “We will keep on growing.”

Fans, called CARATs, have flooded social media with praise for the new song. Many say it could be Song of the Year. Some compared it to SEVENTEENโ€™s 2022 hit “Hot”, calling it an “electric version.”

“THIS ERA IS GOING TO BE ONE OF THE BEST ERAS” โ€” Fan comment on YouTube

“Already charting with the first-day album sales!” โ€” Fan reaction on Instagram

The group teased the music video earlier with a “Burstday Party” concept. A teaser showed an exclusive club called “Blitz Club”, where only the bold could enter. The full video continues this theme of energy and rebellion.

SEVENTEEN debuted on May 26, 2015, with the EP “17 Carat”. Over the past decade, theyโ€™ve become one of K-popโ€™s top acts. Their last album, “Face the Sun”, reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

“Happy Burstday” is now available on all music platforms. The album includes solo tracks like Wooziโ€™s “Destiny”, Mingyuโ€™s “Shake It Off”, and Vernonโ€™s “Shining Star”. The physical album comes in CD and kit versions.
