SEVENTEEN Lights Up Han River With Historic 10th Anniversary Concert; Fans Go Wild Over Fireworks and New Songs

Over 60,000 fans packed Seoul’s Banpo Han River Park on May 25, 2025, as K-pop group SEVENTEEN celebrated their 10th anniversary with a free concert on Jamsu Bridge. The event marked the first time any K-pop act performed on the bridge, creating a historic moment for the 13-member group and their fanbase, known as CARATs.

The “B-Day Party: Burst Stage” concert featured fireworks, synchronized water fountain displays, and the debut performance of their new song “Thunder.” This track is the lead single from their fifth album “Happy Burstday,” released on May 26. The group also performed hits like “Very Nice,” “Hot,” and “God of Music” during the 90-minute show.

“The fact that there are 13 people who even like each other for 10 years is crazy,” said a Canadian fan who flew from Los Angeles for the event. “It’s like fate that they’re still willing to work together after all this time.”

Massive Celebration Across Seoul

The concert was part of an eight-week “Car-Free Festival” on Jamsu Bridge, which transforms into a pedestrian zone every Sunday. SEVENTEEN’s agency HYBE turned the area into a festival ground with food trucks, photo zones, and exhibitions showcasing the group’s 10-year journey. Giant LED screens were installed along the riverbank so more fans could watch.

Only 6,000 lucky fans won raffle tickets for bridge seating, but many others rented boats or watched from yachts on the Han River. Some fans projected the live stream onto yacht screens, creating floating viewing parties. The concert was also streamed for free on Weverse and YouTube.

“My bias, S.Coups, always says that you will find SEVENTEEN when it’s the right time,” shared a Singaporean fan who waited four hours for merchandise. “They make us very happyโ€”itโ€™s like free therapy.”

Military Service and Member Absences

Two members, Jeonghan and Wonwoo, couldn’t attend due to military service. However, fans reported spotting Wonwoo in the audience, sparking excitement online. Despite these absences, the group delivered an energetic performance, with member Hoshi declaring earlier this year: “SEVENTEEN will challenge eternity.”

The new album “Happy Burstday” includes 16 tracksโ€”three group songs and 13 solo tracks, one from each member. This is the first time all members have solo songs on an album.

Fan Reactions and Global Impact

Fans from South Korea and abroad traveled to Seoul for the celebration. Social media buzzed with clips of the fireworks finale and emotional fan chants.

“The best 10 years,” one fan wrote online. Another added: “SEVENTEEN is always ready to commit fully, just like they always have.”

The group will continue celebrations with a fan meeting in Japan and an exclusive Airbnb experience in Seoul on June 4, where 60 lucky fans will design custom jackets and chat with the members.
