SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan Starts Military Service
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan has officially started his required military service, beginning his national duty as a social service agent. On September 26th, Jeonghan arrived at the training center to start his alternative service before fully enlisting. His agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, previously confirmed that Jeonghan would begin service in late September, making him the first SEVENTEEN member to do so.
Although the reason for Jeonghan’s alternative service hasn’t been shared, many speculate that it could be due to health concerns. Last year, he underwent ankle surgery, which may have influenced the decision to serve as a social service agent instead of active duty. Even with his enlistment, Jeonghan reassured fans that pre-recorded content would be released during his service to maintain his connection with CARATs, SEVENTEEN’s fandom.
Jeonghan’s Message to Fans
Just before enlisting, Jeonghan posted a heartfelt message on SEVENTEEN’s Weverse. He thanked his fans, saying, “CARATs, it’s Jeonghan. I will not forget the love you always send me.” He promised to stay healthy, telling them not to worry. His message showed the strong bond between Jeonghan and his fans, who have been supporting him through every step of his career.
What’s Next for SEVENTEEN?
With Jeonghan’s enlistment, SEVENTEEN enters a new phase. Other members will follow in completing their military duties. Fellow member S.Coups received a Grade 5 classification after his anterior cruciate ligament surgery, meaning he will also serve as a social service agent. Meanwhile, Joshua, who holds American citizenship, is exempt from South Korean military service. SEVENTEEN’s military timeline will progress gradually, marking an important transition for the group.
Even with these changes, SEVENTEEN is preparing to release their 12th mini-album, SPILL THE FEELS, on October 14th. Jeonghan’s enlistment and Jun’s acting career in China signal personal growth, but the group remains focused on group activities while supporting individual member ambitions.
Upcoming SEVENTEEN Projects
SEVENTEEN is also gearing up for their fourth world tour, SEVENTEEN RIGHT HERE, starting October 12th in Seoul. Fans are excited about both the new music and the world tour, as the group continues to thrive despite the upcoming challenges.
