What Happens in Episode 1
Episode 1 starts with a funny and tense meeting between the two main characters. Dam Ye-jin (played by Chae Won-bin) is a successful home shopping host. She suffers from serious insomnia because of her stressful job. She travels to the countryside looking for peace.
On a narrow one-way road, she meets Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop). He is a farmer who also runs a natural cosmetics company. He is a perfectionist and likes things done his way. Dam Ye-jin cannot see his face clearly. She thinks he is an older man and politely asks him to move his car.
Neither one wants to back up. The situation gets worse. They start honking at each other. Dam Ye-jin finally stands up in her convertible car to yell at him. When Matthew Lee takes off his hat, she sees his young and handsome face. But she does not back down. She demands that he clear the road.
Matthew Lee stays calm and explains that the road is for one-way exit traffic. He tells her she must not be from around there. The argument continues. Neither wants to lose. This first meeting sets the tone for their whole relationship.
Meet the Cast
The main cast brings this story to life. Ahn Hyo-seop plays Matthew Lee. He is a farmer and CEO who lives a simple but controlled life in the countryside. Chae Won-bin plays Dam Ye-jin. She is a top home shopping host who cannot relax even when she tries.
Kim Bum joins as Seo Eric. He is an executive director from a French cosmetics company who returns to Korea. Go Doo-shim plays Song Hak-daek, a senior figure who plays a big role in Matthew Lee’s life. Yoon Jae-chan plays Hwang Ki-hong, a supporting character involved in the story’s drama.

What the Stars Say About Their Characters
Ahn Hyo-seop shared his thoughts about working with Chae Won-bin. He said she brought a bright and lovely energy to the role. He felt she was perfect for the character of Dam Ye-jin. He also said Matthew Lee gained a lot of energy from working with her.
“She had a much lovelier and brighter side than what I had seen in her previous works. That made me think she suited the character of Dam Ye-jin very well. Through her, Matthew Lee was also able to gain a lot of energy, and I was truly grateful to have her as a co-star.” – Ahn Hyo-seop
Chae Won-bin described Matthew Lee as smart and steady. But she also called him a “heodang,” which means someone who is lovably clumsy in daily life. She described her own character Dam Ye-jin as “dangdang,” meaning confident and unapologetic no matter the situation.
“Matthew Lee is smart and steadfast, but because of that, he has a cute, quirky side in his daily life, so I’d describe him as ‘a bit clumsy’ (heodang). As for Dam Ye-jin, she’s someone who stays confident no matter the situation and always strives to remain confident, so I’d like to describe her as ‘confident.’ Both characters are full of charm.” – Chae Won-bin
The pair calls themselves the “Tyu-Dam Couple.” The name comes from their characters’ names and the playful sound of constant cute arguing. Ahn Hyo-seop said he loved the nickname because it sounded adorable and fit their on-screen relationship well.
Behind the Scenes
The drama comes from director Ahn Jong-yeon and writer Jin Seung-hee. They have created a workplace romantic comedy that mixes humor with emotional moments. The show takes place partly in the countryside and partly in the busy city world of home shopping.
Ahn Hyo-seop spoke about the filming experience. He said there were moments where the actors had to compromise and work through things together. He praised Chae Won-bin for their excellent rhythm on set.
Chae Won-bin added that Ahn Hyo-seop has “the gaze of a pure-hearted boy.” She said natural cuteness appeared in every scene. She also mentioned that his imagination is rich and he brought many fun ideas to their scenes together. She said filming was genuinely joyful.
