Actress Son Naeun is in discussions to join a major new television project. Reports indicate she is positively reviewing an offer to star alongside So Ji Sub in the upcoming SBS action drama ‘Manager Kim’, which is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
The Story Behind ‘Manager Kim’
The drama is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of an ordinary office worker, to be played by So Ji Sub, who hides a dramatic past as a North Korean special agent. His quiet life is shattered when his beloved daughter is kidnapped, forcing him to use his unique skills.
The series has been described as an action noir. It will be directed by Lee Seung Young, who previously directed “Wonderful World” and “Tracer.” The screenplay will be written by Nam Dae Joong, a film writer known for “Love Reset” who is now venturing into television drama.
Son Naeun’s Potential Role
Should Son Naeun accept the offer, she will take on the role of Sang Ah, a key character who works at the same company as the main character, Manager Kim. Her character is expected to be involved in the central storyline that unfolds after the kidnapping.
While an official confirmation is still pending, Son Naeun’s agency, J,WIDE COMPANY, has verified the offer. The agency stated that “Her casting has not been confirmed yet, but she is positively reviewing the offer.”
A Growing Cast of Characters
The drama’s cast is gradually taking shape. So Ji Sub is already confirmed for the lead role. Actors Chae Dae Hoon and Yoon Kyung Ho have also been cast in the production. The addition of Son Naeun would further round out the main ensemble, and fans are already expressing curiosity about the on-screen chemistry between the actors.
Son Naeun’s potential involvement in ‘Manager Kim’ marks a continued focus on her acting career, which began after she gained fame as a member of the K-pop group Apink. She has since built a solid filmography with roles in dramas like “Agency,” “Ghost Doctor,” and the upcoming “The Tale of Lady Ok.”
