A new clip from the final season of Stranger Things shows Eleven preparing for her most important battle. The footage, released by Netflix, features Eleven training with Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers as she gets ready for a final confrontation with the series’ villain, Vecna.

The final season will be released in three parts on Netflix. Volume 1 arrives on November 26, 2025, followed by Volume 2 on December 25, and the series finale on December 31.

Eleven’s Warrior Mindset

The new clip offers a clear look at Eleven’s state of mind as the final battle approaches. Millie Bobby Brown, the actress who plays Eleven, shared insights into her character’s headspace.

โ€œEleven is in training mode. She’s in a warrior state, which is the first time you see Eleven like that at the beginning of a season,โ€ Brown said. โ€œAll she is thinking about is protecting her friends. Her friends are her chosen family, so she will do whatever it takes to protect them.โ€

This intense training regimen underlines the high stakes for Hawkins. Series co-creator Ross Duffer explained that this season breaks from the show’s usual pattern. Unlike previous seasons that began with the characters’ normal lives, the story now starts in chaos following their defeat at the end of Season 4.

A Town in Chaos

Stranger Things 5 picks up in the fall of 1987, more than a year after the events of the previous season. The town of Hawkins is scarred by the massive gates Vecna opened to the Upside Down. The official synopsis states that the heroes are united by a single goal: to find and kill Vecna. However, the villain has vanished, and his plans are unknown.

Complicating their mission, the U.S. government has placed Hawkins under a strict military quarantine. This military presence, led by a team called “The Wolf Pack,” is actively hunting Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. Co-creator Matt Duffer described the situation in Hawkins, noting that “nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore.” The characters are on lockdown, with their movement restricted and surveillance cameras everywhere.

The Full Party Bands Together

The final season brings all the main characters back to Hawkins. Will Byers is confirmed to be back in town, and his connection to Vecna and the Upside Down is set to be a central part of the story. In the latest trailer, Vecna tells Will, โ€œYou are going to help me one last time,โ€ suggesting his unique link to the villain will be crucial.

Other characters are also dealing with the aftermath of past battles. Dustin Henderson is in a “funk,” grieving the loss of his friend Eddie Munson. Lucas Sinclair is caring for a comatose Max Mayfield, who was left in a critical condition after her encounter with Vecna. Mike Wheeler has stepped back into a leadership role, helping to plan the missions to stop Vecna for good.

New Powers and New Threats

The trailers for Season 5 have also teased the evolution of Eleven’s abilities. She is shown performing an incredible leap onto the roof of a bus, suggesting she has developed new powers, potentially a controlled form of flight. This is a significant step up from the involuntary levitation she has experienced in the past when using her powers at their maximum strength.

Meanwhile, Vecna has also grown more powerful. The Duffer Brothers have described him as “stronger and scarier than ever,” with abilities that now extend into the real world and not just the Upside Down. He is seen in the trailer with new red vine armor, commanding an army of Demogorgons.

The final season will also introduce new characters, including Dr. Kay, played by Linda Hamilton. Her role is to lead the military’s efforts to capture Eleven.

Executive producer Shawn Levy has expressed confidence in the series’ conclusion, calling the final episode “the greatest TV finale Iโ€™ve ever seen.” He emphasized that despite the epic scale, the show remains anchored in the characters that audiences love.
