Super Junior’s Siwon revealed that without leader Leeteuk, the group would have disbanded long ago. The members shared heartfelt stories about their 20-year journey on JTBC’s “Knowing Bros,” airing on July 12, 2025.

During the preview of their upcoming appearance on JTBC’s “Knowing Bros,” Super Junior members opened up about their two-decade-long career. Siwon made a touching statement about their leader, Leeteuk, saying he was the key reason the group stayed together.

“The reason we’ve been able to stay together for 20 years is largely thanks to our leader, Leeteuk. Without him, we might’ve ended a long time ago,” Siwon said.

Kyuhyun added humorously, “Though when Leeteuk goes through weird phases, Eunhyuk steps in and acts like the leader,” making everyone laugh.

Super Junior’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations

The episode, set to air on July 12, 2025, celebrates Super Junior’s 20th debut anniversary. The group reminisced about their early days, including riding buses for promotions in 2005.

“Today we all came to work in a group bus. Back in 2005, we used to ride buses for promotions, so I came up with the idea as a way to revisit those days,” Leeteuk shared.

The members also joked about their dance practices for their new album. Kyuhyun admitted, “We were divided into elite, average, and remedial dance classes, which made me a bit self-conscious.”

Siwon added, “After the elite class was done, the choreography would change completely, so it was exhausting,” sparking laughter.

Ryeowook’s Unexpected Power in the Group

The members revealed that Ryeowook had unexpected influence over their schedules.

“This time, Ryeowook became the most powerful member,” they joked. “Schedules that the others didn’t want to do ended up happening just because Ryeowook agreed to them.”

A skit mimicking Ryeowook’s control over their schedules had everyone laughing during filming.

Super Junior’s New Album and Future Plans

Eunhyuk shared details about their 20th-anniversary album, which includes nine tracks—one for each member.

“There are nine tracks, one for each member. I really like the title track. I think it quenches a thirst we’ve had for years,” Eunhyuk said.

The group has been preparing for their comeback with their reality show “Woke Up to SuperTV,” and they recently filmed their music video, which includes Heechul’s participation after his absence from their 2024 single “Show Time.”

Past Conflicts and Strong Bonds

Despite their long-lasting career, Super Junior has faced internal conflicts. In a past interview, Ryeowook and Siwon had a heated argument over something as trivial as too many high-fives.

“Would you be confident with never seeing me again?” Siwon had asked during the fight.
“I’m confident!” Ryeowook replied.

However, they resolved the issue within a day.

“This might sound lame, but we’ve been together for so long that we naturally patched up,” Ryeowook later explained.

Leeteuk’s Leadership Through Challenges

Leeteuk has been a pillar for Super Junior, guiding them through controversies and personal struggles. In the past, he supported Kangin, a former member who left due to multiple scandals, during Ryeowook’s wedding.

“Everyone, you’re now seeing Kangin, whose self-reflection time is longer than promotion time. Please forgive Kangin now,” Leeteuk said at the event.

His leadership has been crucial in maintaining the group’s unity, especially during military enlistments and solo activities.

Fan Reactions and Anticipation for the Comeback

Fans are excited about Super Junior’s 20th-anniversary album and their appearance on “Knowing Bros.” Many praised Leeteuk’s dedication and Siwon’s heartfelt words about their leader.
