Survivor 51 delivered its most chaotic episode yet on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Episode 2, titled “Weaponized Honesty,” featured two potentially game-ending injuries at camp and during a challenge, a producer stepping in to stop a historic rule violation at Tribal Council, and the blindside of Ana Sani in a 6-4 vote. Brady Booker, a former WWE NXT wrestler, sliced off a quarter of his thumb with a machete while chopping wood. Kristin Flickinger took a hard fall during a blindfolded reward challenge and feared she had torn tendons or broken a bone in her foot. Both stayed in the game.

What Happened to Brady Booker on Survivor 51?
Brady Booker accidentally cut off a quarter of his thumb with a machete while splitting wood at the Toka camp. The 27-year-old professional wrestler, known in WWE NXT as Bodhi Hayward, was preparing wood to reach the dry center when the blade came down on his thumb. “I’m missing a quarter of my thumb,” he told his tribemates as blood poured from the wound.
Brady immediately feared the injury would end his game. “Did I just knock myself out of the game?” he asked a producer. The show’s medical team wrapped the wound and administered antibiotics, but they did not reattach the severed piece. Brady had one request: save the thumb fragment so he could take it home after the show. “Doc takes my thumb, puts it in that plastic bag and then sticks it in his pocket,” Brady recalled. “It was one of the weirdest exchanges of my life, but one of the best exchanges of my life because at the end of it, I got to know I get to stay in this game”.
“When Doc told me I can still be in this game, it was like a new life. Sure, it’s still a little numb, but I can touch all the fingers. I can touch the far end. I can clap. I can grab.” — Brady Booker
Jeff Probst reacted to the moment in his weekly “Field Notes,” writing that the injury was not staged: “Legit. Chopped. It. Off. As in, no longer attached to his thumb”. Probst also called the severed thumb “another Survivor first” when he saw the piece preserved in a bag.
How Did Kristin Flickinger Get Hurt in Episode 2?
Kristin Flickinger injured her foot and knee during a blindfolded reward challenge. While navigating a series of obstacles with her vision blocked, Kristin took a brutal fall from a cargo net. She later told her tribe she suspected she had either torn tendons or broken a bone in her foot.
Kristin, a 49-year-old crisis management professional from Santa Barbara, California, refused to be evacuated. She treated the injury using a medicinal herb she had researched before the game, which helped ease the pain. Her determination was rooted in how long she had waited for this opportunity. Kristin said she had applied to Survivor for 26 years and would remain in the game “no matter” what.
What Made the Tribal Council Historic?
Rob Antonson attempted to vote for himself, marking the first time in 51 seasons that a player tried to self-vote at Tribal Council. A producer had to step in from behind the scenes to stop him. The rule against self-voting had never been tested on air until Episode 2.
Rob’s plan was elaborate and confusing. He wanted to save Eric Macksoud, who had been the consensus target for days. Rob told Eric to play his Shot in the Dark, promising to play his own hidden immunity idol on Eric if the Shot missed. With everyone else voting for Eric, Rob’s single vote would decide who went home. He intended that vote to be for himself.
In the voting booth, Rob wrote his own name. A producer immediately intervened and told him he could not vote for himself. “That screws up everything,” Rob said, visibly shaken. He voted for Eric instead. Probst later wrote in all caps: “ROB: WHAT WAS HE THINKING?” and admitted, “I still don’t fully understand what plan Rob was trying to pull off”.

Why Was Ana Sani Voted Out?
Ana Sani was blindsided in a 6-4 vote after her own scheming backfired. The Savu tribe had planned to vote out Eric Macksoud for most of the episode. That plan collapsed when Alexis Levine overheard Ana discussing potential targets. Alexis believed Ana had named her as a possible vote, and she shared that information with Linnea Capobianco and Sharonda Cox.
Ana had already damaged her position by throwing out multiple names at camp, including Linnea, Sharonda, and even her own. At one point, she was caught discussing strategy and tried to claim she was talking about popcorn. The excuse did not land. The three women — Alexis, Linnea, and Sharonda — decided to flip the vote onto Ana instead of Eric.
At Tribal Council, the first votes revealed a 4-4 tie between Ana and Eric. Jeff Probst then read two additional votes for Ana, sealing her elimination 6-4. Eric survived despite being the intended target for days.
“She spun it to make the story work for her.” — Ana Sani, speaking about Alexis in her exit interview
Who Won the Immunity Challenge?
Toka won the immunity challenge, sending Savu to Tribal Council for the second consecutive week. The challenge required both tribes to swim to shore while transporting a 500-pound prop whale over a long, spinning barrel obstacle. Toka built a massive lead early and never gave it up. Maggie Nestor helped seal the victory for the yellow tribe.
The reward challenge, which took place earlier in the episode, was an obstacle course run while blindfolded. That is the challenge where Kristin was injured. Toka won the reward, earning comfort items including pillows, a hammock, and a tarp.
What Else Happened at Camp in Episode 2?
Angelica “Jelly” Loblack found a hidden immunity idol, giving her a significant advantage going forward. A five-person alliance appeared to form on the Toka tribe between Patt Cannaday, Jelly Loblack, Devin Way, Brady Booker, and Mike Pinsky.
On the Savu side, Carter Krull emerged as Ana’s closest ally, a bond that was stronger than the edit showed. Ana also aligned with Rob and Alexis early on, but her loose lips at camp eroded those relationships before Tribal Council. Lewis Kelly, who joined Toka after spending the premiere on Exile Island, continued to struggle with building trust among his new tribemates.
