Actor Suvinder Vicky, who played Arjun Rampal’s on-screen father in the blockbuster film Dhurandhar 2, recently opened up about the intense abusive scenes they shot together. Vicky revealed how director Aditya Dhar set clear boundaries for the profanity and shared Arjun Rampal’s surprising reaction when warned about the heavy dialogues.
The film, which released in March 2026, became one of the biggest hits of the year. Vicky’s character, Brigadier Jahangir, had several confrontational scenes with Rampal’s character, Major Iqbal. The dialogues were filled with strong language, something that even made Vicky joke about playing a mute character instead.
Suvinder Vicky Thought His Dialogues Would Be Censored
When Suvinder Vicky first read the script for Dhurandhar 2, he was sure most of his lines would not make it past the censors. The actor admitted that he even suggested to director Aditya Dhar that his character should be mute to avoid all the beeps.
“I told Aditya that my whole dialogue will be a big beep; he should have instead made me play a mute character in the film because I’m abusing so much.”
But Dhar was confident. He assured Vicky that nothing would be cut from the film. That confidence turned out to be correct. The director’s belief in the script and the scenes meant that all the dialogues remained in the final version.
Vicky also made it clear that he did not create any of the abusive language himself. The credit goes to the screenwriter.
“The credit for all the abusive language would also go to our screenwriter, because I didn’t make any of those; that was all written in the script.”
Aditya Dhar Drew a Clear Line on Abusive Words
After learning that his dialogues would not be censored, Vicky thought about adding more to the scenes. He planned to improvise. But Aditya Dhar stopped him immediately.
The director set a firm rule. He said they would not cross a certain line. In Hindi and Punjabi, the most offensive kind of abuse involves references to mothers and sisters. Dhar made sure the film avoided that category entirely.
“He said we will not go to mothers and sisters. It is also our responsibility not to hurt sentiments in films.”
This distinction is important. While the film is known for its unfiltered language, the filmmakers made a conscious choice about which insults were acceptable and which were not. Everything else was allowed, but that one category was strictly off-limits.
Arjun Rampal’s Reaction: ‘It Is Part of Life’
Suvinder Vicky and Arjun Rampal had already worked together before Dhurandhar 2. They shared screen space in the film Satluj. That previous experience helped them build a good equation on set.
Before shooting the abusive scenes, Vicky decided to warn Rampal about what was coming. He told him about the heavy dialogues and the strong language his character would have to face.
Rampal’s reaction surprised Vicky. Instead of being worried or uncomfortable, he encouraged Vicky to go all out.
“When I warned him about my dialogues in the film, he told me, ‘It is part of life, camera ke samne faad de.’”
The phrase “camera ke samne faad de” translates to “give it everything in front of the camera.” Rampal’s response showed his professional approach and comfort with the material. He understood that the scenes were part of the story and did not take them personally.
Suvinder Vicky’s Performance Won Over Audiences
Even though Vicky’s role in Dhurandhar 2 was brief, it left a strong impact on viewers. His character, Brigadier Jahangir, became a talking point after the film’s release. Many people were surprised to see him play such an intense and abusive father to Arjun Rampal’s character.
Vicky shared that the audience response was overwhelming. People made many memes about his character, something that had never happened to him before.
“Even though my character was small and I had to abuse a lot in Dhurandhar 2, people showered me with a lot of love. I never became a meme before, but after Dhurandhar, a lot of memes were made on my character, so I was on a high.”
The actor, who gained fame for his role as Balbir Singh in the web series Kohrra, has shown his range as a performer with these diverse projects.

Suvinder Vicky’s Upcoming Project: Awarapan 2
After the success of Dhurandhar 2, Suvinder Vicky is now preparing for his next release. He will be seen in Awarapan 2, which brings back Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit. The sequel comes almost two decades after the original 2007 film.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film also features Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in key roles. It is set to release on August 14
