The young star of FX’s hit series Alien: Earth is officially joining the DC Universe (DCU) according to recent insider reports. Sydney Chandler is said to have secured a role in the animated series Creature Commandos Season 2. This news comes just days after Chandler was linked to the live-action film Man of Tomorrow, creating a swirl of rumors about exactly which superhero she will play.
Chandler is the daughter of actor Kyle Chandler, who is already set to play Hal Jordan in the upcoming DCU series Lanterns. This move means the father-daughter duo will now both be working inside the growing cinematic universe led by James Gunn.
Reports Point to Nosferata Role in ‘Creature Commandos’ Season 2
According to exclusive reporting by insider Jeff Sneider, Sydney Chandler will not be playing a live-action hero right now. Instead, she will voice the character Nosferata in the second season of the animated series Creature Commandos. In DC Comics lore, Nosferata is an immortal vampire who has the ability to shapeshift, hypnotize her victims, and possesses superhuman strength.
Nosferata already made a brief appearance in the finale of the first season of Creature Commandos. She was shown as a new member joining the team alongside a rebuilt G.I. Robot and King Shark. This suggests that the character will have a much larger role to play when the show returns.

The ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Casting Confusion Explained
Just last week, the entertainment news cycle was focused on a different story. Multiple outlets reported that Sydney Chandler was on a shortlist of actresses testing for the role of Maxima in James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow. That list also included Adria Arjona (Andor), Eva De Dominici, and Grace Van Patten.
However, the situation became messy very quickly. When a different set of names initially leaked, James Gunn publicly criticized the reporting, calling it “shoddy & incorrect” on social media.
On April 8, 2026, Gunn wrote: “Deadline’s reporting is shoddy & incorrect… If someone would have run these names by us we would have said it’s bullshit.”
Despite his anger over the initial report, newer reports confirmed that Adria Arjona was the actress who ultimately landed the role. However, even Arjona’s role remains a mystery. While trades like Variety and Deadline say she is playing Maxima, many fans and insiders believe she might actually be playing Wonder Woman. One of Sneider’s sources reportedly said, “There’s no way that role isn’t Wonder Woman.”
A Busy Schedule for the ‘Alien: Earth’ Star
Regardless of her DCU involvement, Sydney Chandler remains very busy with her flagship show. She stars as Wendy, a hybrid synthetic, in the FX series Alien: Earth. The show recently finished its first season, and the network has already ordered a second.
Chandler confirmed to Deadline in March 2026 that production for Alien: Earth Season 2 is expected to begin in May 2026. The show is moving production from Thailand to the historic Pinewood Studios in London, the original home of the Alien movie franchise.
“Production of Alien: Earth is segueing from Thailand to London’s Pinewood Studios, the later home to such Alien movies as the original 1979 movie.” – Deadline reporting
With Alien: Earth starting production soon and Creature Commandos likely requiring voice work, Chandler is balancing two major franchises. Creature Commandos is an animated series, which allows actors to record their lines from almost anywhere, making it easier to fit into her schedule.
What This Means for the DCU
James Gunn and Peter Safran have been very open about how the DCU works. The first season of Creature Commandos officially kicked off the new timeline. By bringing Sydney Chandler into the voice cast, Gunn is continuing a trend of hiring actors who can bring intensity to strange and obscure comic book characters.
Even though she is not playing a major character like Wonder Woman or Supergirl, Nosferata is a dark character that fits the tone of Creature Commandos. The first season was praised for its mature humor and violence. Adding a powerful vampire to the team in Season 2 raises the stakes for the group of monsters.
As of April 2026, there is no official release date for Creature Commandos Season 2. Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027, starring David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
