The story of Rainbow Taxi’s very first client reached its powerful end in episodes 7 and 8 of Taxi Driver Season 3, which aired on December 12 and 13, 2025. The team’s investigation into a decades-old volleyball match-fixing case escalated into a final battle against Gwan-jin, a dangerous criminal who had turned violence into an international online spectacle. These episodes delivered a tense and emotional conclusion to the season’s central storyline, blending brutal action with a poignant resolution for a grieving father.

The Trap is Set and the Mastermind is Revealed

Episode 7 focused on the final stages of the Rainbow Taxi Team’s plan to expose the match-fixing ring and locate the body of the murdered athlete, Park Min-ho. The team discovered that coaches Seong-uk and Dong-min were fixing university volleyball games and running an illegal betting operation. To infiltrate the scheme, Kim Do-gi manipulated Dong-min by taking control of his gym and then pretending to be a wealthy gambler interested in the operation.

Posing as a European football recruiter named Lorenzo Kim, Do-gi approached one of the players involved in the fixes. He encouraged the player to perform well, successfully disrupting Seong-uk’s plans. Do-gi then psychologically tormented Seong-uk by appearing at the gym wearing Park Min-ho’s old jersey. This tactic worked: a terrified Seong-uk rushed to the burial site to check on the body, allowing the Rainbow Taxi Team to finally discover where Min-ho was hidden. However, Do-gi also witnessed Seong-uk reporting to a mysterious third party, confirming his suspicion that a more powerful figure was pulling the strings.

This figure was Gwan-jin. A flashback revealed that fifteen years ago, Gwan-jin was a sponsor for Park Min-ho’s team. When Min-ho refused a bribe and threatened to expose a match-fixing plot, Gwan-jin murdered him. He forced Seong-uk to help bury the body and framed Dong-min for the assault. When Min-ho’s father later tried to investigate with a reporter, Gwan-jin had them hit by a truck, causing the father to develop severe amnesia. In the present day, Gwan-jin operated from the Philippines, running a brutal online platform where viewers could bet on real-life survival games.

A Final Game of Survival and a Quest for Closure

With the discovery of Min-ho’s body, Gwan-jin returned to Korea to clean up the mess. He ruthlessly killed both Dong-min and Seong-uk to silence them. He then stole Min-ho’s body from a funeral home and attempted to kill Min-ho’s father, but Do-gi intervened and saved him. Impressed by Do-gi’s skills, Gwan-jin lured him to an abandoned school, trapping him in a real-life version of his sick survival game. Do-gi was forced to fight wave after wave of attackers while online viewers bet on his life.

With Go-eun’s technical support, Do-gi fought through the game, located Gwan-jin’s control room, and confronted him directly. After a fierce battle, Do-gi gained the upper hand and threw Gwan-jin from the third floor into an open grave below. Reminding Gwan-jin of the endless suffering he caused Min-ho’s father, Do-gi used a forklift to bury the crime lord alive, delivering a grim form of poetic justice.

In the aftermath, the Rainbow Taxi Team recovered Park Min-ho’s remains. They took his father to a peaceful burial site with a beautiful sunset view, finally giving Min-ho a proper resting place. The episode ended quietly, with Do-gi driving the father in his taxi, carrying the ashes to their final destination and providing long-denied closure.
