After finishing her massive Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has told fans she does not plan to go back on tour anytime soon. The singer explained she is physically tired and enjoying having hobbies again, putting any future tour plans on hold while she focuses on her new album “The Life of a Showgirl.”
The Direct Answer on Touring
During an interview with BBC Radio 1 host Greg James, Swift was directly asked if she had the itch to start another tour soon. Her response was immediate and clear.
“No. No. I’m gonna be really honest with you. I am so tired,” Swift said. “Like when I think about doing it again, I’d wanna do it really well again, you know?”
She emphasized that the effort required to meet her own standards for a tour is significant, and she currently doesn’t have the energy for such a massive undertaking.
Why She Needs a Break
The Eras Tour was a monumental effort for Swift, spanning from March 2023 to December 2024. During that time, she performed 149 shows across five continents and 21 countries. The tour broke records, becoming the highest-grossing tour of all time by earning over $2 billion in ticket sales.
Swift reflected on how all-consuming the tour was, stating it left no room for anything else in her life. She shared that now that the tour is over, she’s enjoying a more balanced life.
“I’m so good right now. Like, my joints are good. I have hobbies again!” Swift explained. “I could only do the Eras Tour when I was on the Eras Tour. That was just two years of having no other hobbies. So now I have hobbies again.”
Remembering the Eras Tour
While she’s enjoying her rest, Swift spoke fondly of her time on the road. She described the tour as “the most exhausting challenge ever, physically,” but also an incredibly rewarding experience.
She shared a special detail about what she could see from the stage, thanks to her LASIK-corrected vision.
“I could see miles past [in] the stadium. I could see their experience and their joy, and that fed me, fueled me, even when I was exhausted and tired.”
She expressed deep gratitude for her fans, noting that the honor of their support and the joy she witnessed from the stage are things she will never forget.
Fan Reactions to the News
Fans on social media have largely supported Swift’s decision, with many expressing relief for both her well-being and their wallets. The financial commitment of the Eras Tour was significant for attendees, and the reaction to the touring break has been understanding.
One fan on X wrote, “Girl rest. my wallet is tired too. take ur time,” while another added, “Lowkey so happy because she is getting her rest and i have time to get rich.” Comments like “Wallets r safe” and “Good, I’m still recovering from the Eras Tour” were common, showing a collective acknowledgment of the tour’s massive scale.
A New Album Instead of a Tour
Instead of preparing for a new tour, Swift is currently promoting her twelfth studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which was released on October 3, 2025. The album features 12 tracks, including a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title song.
She described the album as a “complete and total snapshot” of her current life, marking a shift to creating from a place of happiness. This new music gives fans a fresh focus while the singer takes a well-deserved break from the road.
