Jung Hyun-gyu has won The Devil’s Plan Season 2, claiming the grand prize of 380 million KRW (approximately $273,000). The intense finale aired on May 20, 2025, on Netflix, featuring a thrilling showdown between Hyun-gyu and Yoon So-hee.

The competition began with 14 contestants battling through complex mental challenges, alliances, and betrayals. Over 12 episodes, the group was narrowed down to the final two. The last match was a best-of-three series of games testing strategy, psychology, and quick thinking.

The first game, Big or Small, involved betting and reading opponents’ moves. Hyun-gyu won after a close battle. The second game, Bagh Chal, a traditional Nepalese strategy game, went to So-hee. The final decider was Questions and Truth, a card-based deduction challenge where Hyun-gyu outsmarted So-hee to secure victory.

Hyun-gyu, a Seoul National University student and former EXchange 2 (Transit Love 2) contestant, played a strategic game. He admitted, “I really did a lot of horrible things, and by doing so, I ended up winning The Devil’s Plan.” His aggressive tactics included forming and breaking alliances, using hidden advantages, and psychological manipulation.

So-hee, an actor and former Heart Signal participant, was a strong competitor. Known for her quiet but sharp gameplay, she nearly won but lost in the final moments. Fans praised her performance, calling her a “silent killer” for her underrated strategic moves.

The prize pool started at 500 million KRW but settled at 380 million KRW based on game outcomes. Previous eliminations included Lee Se-dol, the legendary Go player, and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, who was unexpectedly ousted mid-season.

The show’s format combined prison matches, hidden stages, and high-stakes mind games. Contestants like Choi Hyun-joon and 7high added drama with betrayals and last-minute twists. The finale reunited all eliminated players to watch the final duel.

The Devil’s Plan has been compared to Squid Game for its intense psychological battles but focuses purely on strategy without physical challenges. Season 1 winner Ha Seok-jin, an actor, set a high bar, but Hyun-gyu’s win has sparked debates on whether his ruthless tactics were fair or too extreme.

Fans are now discussing if Hyun-gyu will return for a potential Season 3. Meanwhile, both seasons are available for streaming on Netflix.
