Behind The Scenes Of The Hunting Wives

The series was created by Rebecca Cutter, known for Hightown. It was originally planned for Starz but moved to Netflix after Lionsgate regained the rights. Filming took place in North Carolina, with the town of Mooresville transformed into a Texas setting.

The show features intense drama, steamy scenes, and a murder mystery. Malin Åkerman spoke about her role, saying:

“I love roles like this. Women who are just big and free and wild. This show is saucy and fun, and I love veering away from who I am in real life, which is a people pleaser, and stepping into something that’s a bit more queen bee, leader of the pack. It was amazing.”

Brittany Snow and Åkerman had strong chemistry, especially in their intimate scenes. Åkerman added:

“Brittany and I get along so well. She’s such a lovely human. We would be sitting there kind of giggling like school girls, like, ‘Oh my God, this is so crazy. What a job we have!’”

What The Series Is About

The Hunting Wives follows Sophie as she joins Margo’s elite group, only to uncover dark secrets. The women engage in late-night parties, affairs, and dangerous games. When a murder happens, Sophie must decide how far she’s willing to go to protect herself.

The show explores themes of power, desire, and betrayal. It has been compared to Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives but with a Texas twist. Critics have praised the performances but noted the plot gets chaotic as the mystery unfolds.
