The upcoming K-drama The Judge from Hell has dropped a thrilling teaser, introducing Park Shin Hye as a quirky demon judge and Kim Jae Young as a detective who challenges her. The show promises a unique blend of fantasy, romance, and crime drama as it gets ready for its highly awaited premiere on September 21, 2024.

The Show’s Teaser Highlights

On September 19, 2024, a teaser was released, showcasing Park Shin Hye in her role as Kang Bit Na, a demon judge sent from hell. Her mission: to send 100 criminals back to hell under the orders of a mysterious character played by Shin Sung Rok. However, she encounters Kim Jae Young, who plays Han Da On, a detective committed to justice and law enforcement, which puts them at odds.

The highlight teaser gives viewers a glimpse into the show’s sci-fi fantasy world, where Justicia, the demon judge, battles evil. Park Shin Hye’s character is seen alongside two fellow demons disguised as humans, while she navigates her duties on Earth.

Characters and Storyline

  • Park Shin Hye as Kang Bit Na: A demon judge with a quirky personality and a knack for punishing criminals. Despite her role, she is indifferent to the personal suffering of the people she meets, which becomes a central point of tension.
  • Kim Jae Young as Han Da On: A handsome detective with a strong belief in justice. He frequently clashes with Kang Bit Na as he upholds the law, while she operates outside of it.
  • Shin Sung Rok as Justicia’s superior: A mysterious figure who orders Kang Bit Na to eliminate criminals.

The teaser also hints at a possible romantic dynamic between Kang Bit Na and Han Da On. Despite their differences, Han Da On’s playful antics and good looks get under Kang Bit Na’s skin, even though she remains suspicious of him and questions the existence of love.

The Teaser’s Action Sequences

As the teaser progresses, viewers witness Kang Bit Na’s unique abilities to deliver justice in her own way. She is seen sending numerous criminals to hell, while Han Da On questions her motives, asking her, “For whom does the law exist?” This sets the stage for a tension-filled relationship between the two characters, with both standing on opposite sides of justice.

Release Information

The Judge from Hell will premiere on SBS on September 21, 2024, at 10 PM KST (6:30 PM IST). It will also be available for streaming on Disney+.
