The Morning Show Season 4 Episode 4 recap: Love The Questions

The latest episode of The Morning Show, titled “Love the Questions,” delivered high-stakes drama both on and off the air. A chaotic breaking news story forced the team to scramble without their key leader, while a personal investigation uncovered a cover-up that leads straight to the top of the network. The episode, which aired on October 8, 2025, saw Yanko’s planned romantic gesture fall apart and a powerful board member make a shocking discovery about her husband.

A Plane Crash Upends a Planned Proposal

The episode opened with Yanko rehearsing a highly unusual marriage proposal to his girlfriend, Ariana. He planned to pop the question during a live segment of The Morning Show, complete with a spoken-word performance set to Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” backup dancers, and a ring box. However, the segment was plagued with problems from the start, including the unfortunate death of one of the doves meant to be released. The situation worsened when breaking news hit: a plane in distress was attempting an emergency landing, forcing the producers to cancel Yanko’s proposal entirely.

The newsroom descended into chaos as the team, already short-staffed after Mia Jordan’s recent resignation, worked to cover the unfolding crisis. Alex stepped in to help guide the broadcast from the control room, demonstrating the strong on-air partnership between her and Bradley. The plane ultimately landed safely, but the moment for Yanko’s proposal had passed. After the show, he told Ariana he wanted to wait for a more special time, though it was clear he was also distracted by news that his former love, Claire, was back in town.

Bradley and Chip Uncover a Dark Secret

While the on-air drama unfolded, Bradley and Chip continued their secret investigation into the Wolf River story. They discovered that all records of the Wolf River depositions had been erased from the UBN archives. Chip’s research led them to a lawyer named Kenneth Stockton, who had been working on the class-action lawsuit against the chemical company. In 2019, Eagle News ran a series of negative stories about Stockton, after which he died by suicide and the Wolf River story disappeared.

To get more information, Bradley contacted Ashley Andrews at Eagle News, offering a story about the climate group Extinction Revolt in exchange for the source of the Stockton reports. The files Ashley sent revealed a shocking connection: the information had been provided by Earl, Cory’s fixer. This proved that Cory Ellison was the one who had killed the Wolf River story years ago, acting on instructions from his former boss, Fred Micklen. Bradley was left in shock, realizing the man she had just rekindled a romantic relationship with was at the center of the cover-up.

Bargain and a Personal Betrayal

Elsewhere, Cory was at the network to finalize a production deal. He was approached by board member Celine Dumont, who revealed her ambition to become both Board President and CEO of UBN. She offered Cory a massive $200 million production deal in exchange for the leverage he was using against Stella. Cory initially refused to reveal Stella’s secretโ€”that she was having an affair with Celine’s husband, Miles.

However, after a conversation with Chip made him feel vulnerable, Cory returned to Celine and told her the truth about the affair. The revelation devastated Celine, who maintained her composure in front of Cory but broke down alone moments later. Actress Marion Cotillard, who plays Celine, shared insights into her character’s reaction.

“She is devastated, but I wanted her to be mad at herself for feeling but not really knowing. Because she loves to be aheadโ€ฆ And the fact that she didnโ€™t see it totally coming, I thought it was interesting that she would, in a way, be more affected by the fact that sheโ€™s mad at herself than the real story that is happening.”

Alex Stands Up to Blackmail

Alex Levy faced her own challenges when her father, Martin, showed up at her apartment, furious. A student journalist named Justice was publishing an exposรฉ alleging that Martin had plagiarized his first book, and he blamed Alex for giving the journalist too much information during an earlier interview. When Alex contacted Justice, the student attempted to blackmail her, offering to remove the plagiarism allegation from the story in exchange for a job at UBN.

Although Alex initially considered the offer, she ultimately refused to be blackmailed. Her decision was reinforced when Chip reminded her that her father had not always been supportive, having sided with her ex-husband during their divorce. Alex’s choice to stand on principle left her relationship with her father severely damaged.

The episode ended with multiple crises looming. Bradley now knows Cory’s secret, Celine knows her husband’s, and Yanko’s relationship is on uncertain ground. The consequences of these revelations are set to play out in the episodes to come.
