Kitty Song Covey did not kiss Min Ho. After two seasons of love triangles, ski cabin comfort, and a private jet rescue, the biggest question from the XO, Kitty Season 2 finale still has no answer. Netflix confirmed the third season will premiere April 2, and the showโs creator Jenny Han is bringing everyone back to Seoul for Kittyโs senior year. But before Kitty defines her relationship with Min Ho โfor real this time,โ the events of Season 2 changed everything about her family, her friendships, and her heart.
The season dropped January 16, 2025, and it opened with Kitty flying back to the Korean International School of Seoul after being expelled. She promised herself a fresh start. Instead, she got a mystery about her late mother, a secret cousin, a fake girlfriend, and Noah Centineo showing up as Peter Kavinsky. Here is the complete breakdown of what happened, who ended up where, and why the Min Ho kiss never came.
The Simon Mystery Was Not a RomanceโIt Was a Family Secret
Kitty arrived at KISS in Season 1 believing her mother, Eve, had a boyfriend named Simon during her own time at the school. Season 2 revealed the truth. Simon was not a former flame. He was Eveโs cousin.
Showrunner Jessica OโToole explained that Kitty spent the entire season chasing a love story when the real story was about family separation. Kittyโs grandmother left South Korea decades ago and cut contact with her own sister. Eve never knew she had cousins in Korea. Before she died, Eve had been working with Simon to reunite the family. Kitty took over that mission.
The discovery brought Kitty face to face with her halemoni, played by Jenny Hanโs real mother. The finale ended with the family togetherโMargot Song Covey (Janel Parrish) flew to Korea, met their grandmother, and stood with Kitty as the family healed a wound that had lasted generations.
โThere are so many types of love, including family love, and that is just as important and just as valuable to chase after,โ Anna Cathcart said.
Peter Kavinsky Showed Up and Remembered Everything
Noah Centineo returned as Peter Kavinsky in Episode 6. He was in Seoul filming The Recruit Season 2, and the timing allowed the To All the Boys universe to connect again. Peter visited Kitty, gave her big brother advice, and immediately clocked what was happening between Kitty and Min Ho.
Peter told Kitty that Min Ho remembered every single word she ever said but still pretended to be annoyed when she talked too much. He called it a classic sign. The cameo was filmed on the first day of production, and Cathcart admitted she was nervous because she had not been on set in two years. Centineo called working with her again โamazing.โ
Min Ho and Kitty: The Kiss That Did Not Happen
Sang Heon Lee returned as Min Ho, the wealthy, stylish, emotionally guarded son of a famous music judge. Season 1 ended with Min Ho confessing his feelings on the plane to Los Angeles. Kitty rejected him immediately.
Season 2 started with that rejection hanging in the air. Min Ho began dating Stella (Audrey Huynh) at Kittyโs suggestion. The relationship was meant to help him move on. Instead, Stella turned out to be someone else entirely. Her real name was Esther. She came to KISS to destroy Min Hoโs father, who had embarrassed her in a singing competition years earlier.
Kitty discovered the truth and worked to protect Min Ho. The betrayal, the rescue, and the growing friendship brought them closer. At the Cherry Blossom Ball, Min Ho asked Kitty to dance. He remembered that she sang Chappell Roanโs โPicture Youโ off-key in the shower when they were roommates. The moment was romantic. The camera lingered. No kiss came.
In the finale, Min Ho prepared to leave Seoul for the summer with his family. Kitty ran after him. She said, โWait.โ He stopped. They looked at each other. The screen cut.
OโToole said the longing is intentional. โLonging is something that the audience also needs to do.โ
Yuri and Juliana Broke Up and Made Up
Gia Kim returned as Yuri, the girl Kitty kissed in Season 1. That kiss caused major problems in Season 2. Juliana (Regan Aliyah) found out and ended her relationship with Yuri. The breakup was painful and public.
Yuri spent the season trying to earn back Julianaโs trust. By the finale, they were working through it. Kitty and Yuri did not pursue a romance. The show shifted Kittyโs attention fully toward Min Ho, but Yuri remained part of the friend group.
Praveena (Sasha Bhasin) was Kittyโs short-term love interest. She called things off after realizing Kitty was not fully available. The character remains part of the cast for Season 3.
XO, Kitty Season 3 Release Date and What Comes Next

The official logline states: โKitty Song Covey returns for her final year at KISS with her perfect senior year mapped out. Sheโs going to make meaningful memories with her friends, grow closer to her relatives in Korea and make big decisions about her future. And sheโs going to define her relationship with Min Ho.
