Netflix has confirmed that its new Korean mystery thriller, The Price of Confession, will start streaming on December 5, 2025. The series stars award-winning actresses Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun, who appear together for the first time in ten years. A new teaser and poster released show the two women in a tense prison encounter that hints at a dangerous deal.
The Story of Two Women and a Dangerous Deal
The Price of Confession follows the story of Yoon Soo (played by Jeon Do Yeon), a woman who becomes the prime suspect in her husband’s murder. The newly released teaser begins with Yoon Soo frantically calling emergency services as her husband lies bleeding beside her. After his death, her behavior raises suspicions. During police questioning, she remains strangely calm, asks for a mild coffee, and even references crime shows. Despite insisting she is innocent, she is sent to prison.
It is in prison that she meets Mo Eun (played by Kim Go Eun), a mysterious inmate known as a “witch” and a murderer. Mo Eun has been observing Yoon Soo and makes a shocking proposal. She offers to confess to killing Yoon Soo’s husband, but her confession comes with a price. The teaser shows their relationship become fractured, with one scene showing Yoon Soo angrily slapping Mo Eun. The preview ends with Mo Eun’s cryptic line:
โWe will end up doing this crazy thing.โ
A Closer Look at the Key Characters
The series revolves around a powerful cast, bringing complex characters to life. Jeon Do Yeon plays Ahn Yoon Soo, an art teacher whose life is shattered when her husband is murdered and she is accused of the crime. She struggles to prove her innocence while dealing with the terrifying reality of prison.
Kim Go Eun transforms into the enigmatic Mo Eun. Feared by other inmates and labeled a witch for her ability to read people, she is the central force of mystery in the story. Her offer to confess to the murder pulls Yoon Soo into a dangerous bargain with unpredictable consequences.
The cast is supported by Park Hae Soo of Squid Game fame, who plays prosecutor Baek Dong Hoon. He is a conscientious investigator who relentlessly pursues the truth behind the case. Jin Sun Kyu takes on the role of Jang Jeong Gu, Yoon Soo’s lawyer and a former boxer who fights to defend her.
Behind the Scenes of the New Thriller
The project is a significant reunion for Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun, who last shared the screen in the 2015 film Memories of the Sword. The series is directed by Lee Jung Hyo, who is known for directing the global hit Crash Landing on You and the Netflix series Doona!. The script is written by Kwon Jong Kwan.
The official teaser poster captures the haunting atmosphere of the drama. It shows Yoon Soo and Mo Eun on opposite sides of a wall, both dressed in prison uniforms. Yoon Soo is seen pressing her ear against the wall, while Mo Eun rests her head against it on the other side, suggesting a deep, unspoken connection between the two women.
The series is set to have 12 episodes, with each episode running for approximately 60 minutes. It will be available for streaming worldwide exclusively on the Netflix platform.
